Anyone seen this at their local comic book store? A free, 8-page booklet of rough sketches for some of the art that will appear on the Black Terror, Death Defying 'Devil and Masquerade mini series and some that has already appeared in the Chapter Two preview.
To be frank, it's largely stuff we've seen before, but the parts with sketches of the Supremacy is interesting, as it shows that they've gone few a couple of different face lifts. It looks like the african-american(?) Advocate took the place of a robed, holy-looking, caucasian "Godspeed" and Emperor Seng II didn't have that silly hat. There is also a quick sketch of the Supremacy with Captain Future alone side them rather than The Scarab.
Also, there's one written mention of "Martan the Marvel Man and Vana". Anyone who know these two could be?

I have NOT seen it. I asked about it ... but only got a shrug.
I hope it shows up. You make it sound interesting.

To quote Jess Nevins' Golden Age Heroes directory (http://ratmmjess.tripod.com/gold/page.html):
Martan the Marvel Man. Martan is an alien, of the planet Antaclea, who comes to Earth on his honeymoon with his wife Vana. Unfortunately, while he's here he discovers that evil aliens, carrying out the orders of the Supreme Three Of The Universe, have already arrived on Earth and are trying to conquer Earth. Martan and his wife fight against the invading aliens. Martan has superstrength and telepathy as well as advanced technology (i.e., rayguns).
First Appearance: Popular Comics #46 (Dell)

In sketches for the Prelude there are some interesting things that changed from sketch to final pic.
US Jones is listed with the Patriots but was later eliminated. And from the Black Terror preview it looks like he may no be around long.
Captain Future and some one named Godspeed are seen in the sketch of the Supremacy and there is no sign of Scarab or the Advocate.
There are also roughs ofthe covers for the three mine series. It also looks like the John Romita Sr covers for the first issue covers were inspired by two classic covers (BT/Punisher 1st app and DDD/Spiderman in jail) and masquerade in the panel with Mary Jane Watson's first appearance .
It's free and is a fun look at what might have been and what is to come.

They know I'm a big P:SP fan and had it waiting for me. There had been a couple of problems with my pull list recently and maybe they were tryng to make it up to me, but I doubt it because the manager is a P:SP fan as well.

I'm bummed. My store knows I'm a big SP fan, too. Maybe my LCS didn't order any. I'm checking again, with them. :(

MY LCS said 'they just sent them'. so who knows.
The four roughs of Ross's Masquerade covers look interesting. And Ghost is featured on the rough of DDD issue 3.
We also get a better look at Truth & Dare.

I've got to thank Ghornet2.!!
Thanks for the help in getting a Sketchbook into my sweaty little hands.
I'm really glad to have it. I marvel at how strong Alex's initial sketches are ...
Geeesh. Mine are a mess. Guess that's why HE'S the professional.
But we do get some insights into our heroes from the sketchbook...some visual information we wouldn't have gotten anywhere else.
It's a really "neat" little book to have.
Seeing the little changes in The Supremacy was neat.
The close-up of THE GHOST... great! I'm liking this character. Hope he does well.
I'm also "drawn" to that picture of the SuperPowers Chapter Two Character Sketches of the group...(man, I love great group shots, for some reason.)(Especially when they make sense.)
And it's nice to see some of the "process" that's going on ... that we, as fans, don't always see. Like these initial cover sketches.
FUN!!
I wouldn't have seen it without Ghornet's help. Thanks, pal. ;) :D

I enjoyed the sketchbook as well, I like little things like this that are rarities and don't connect to the story or anything, it's fun to just flip through and look at :)
