Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi Oi Oi!
Interesting points I took away from this article:
-Brett Matthews is signed on through issue #18 (origin arc plus 12)
-"The Lone Ranger & Tonto" is intended as a semi-regular (my guess would be quarterly at best) series of 32 page 'done-in-one' stories
-'LR&T' is set 'in the future' as compared to the regular series, and therefore does not intersect the ongoing continuity at this time (Matthews probably has the series tentatively plotted through at least #18, since he's signed on for that long, so I'd bet these stories would take place sometime beyond that)
Sounds to me like, while the ongoing series is similar to a serial, complete with the cliff-hanger endings, exploring the development of the characters, 'LR&T' will be more like TV episodes and focus more on action than character development. In other words, the one-shots will be more about 'how' the Lone Ranger acts and the ongoing will continue to focus on 'why' he acts that way. Sounds good to me.
I thought it was interesting that he first said there would be no Tonto solo story, but then later said maybe ... down the road.![]()
