Does anyone know if DE plans on releasing archives or trades of the original GA adventures of the Superpowers characters? I know some of them are available online; but I'd love to have them in printed form to read. Nothing beats actually holding a volume in your hands while you read it.

Perhaps they could put one together recounting the exploits of the Black Terror, Fighting Yank, Pyroman, Hyrdoman, Daredevil, and Samson?

I know a lot of people here would like this to happen and so would I but I would hate to shift a focus on reprints that casual/modern day reader wouldn't care about and delay new content which is what should be the main focal point right now and for now on. Once the staff grows and the readership for PS gets bigger then that would be a good time to reprint GA stories and put it out there and see if people bite, but as of right now it would not be a wise idea by any means.

Since resigning as admin I haven't been around here much, but I wanted to chime in here. As reprints of these particular stories go, the longer the wait the more risk someone else will do it. Already Dark Horse has released hardcover archive editions of the complete Green Lama solo series:

    http://www.amazon.com/Green-Lama-1-v...8449016&sr=1-1

    http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Green...8449016&sr=1-2

And now Fantagraphics is releasing their SUPERMEN! trade which features Golden Age adventures of Daredevil, The Flame, The Face, and many other Superpowers, or potential Superpowers, characters:

    http://www.amazon.com/Supermen-Greg-.../dp/1560979712

I know there has been some discussion by the powers-that-be of doing an "Origins" TPB, and I think that would probably be well received. But I also know they're putting origin recaps in each issue of Vol. 2, so they might see it as redundant. If you really want to see an "Origins" collection, I recommend sending an e-mail/letter to DE letting them know. If they get enough e-mails they may see that consumer demand warrants the production of such a volume.

Thanks, Mikey, ... appreciate it. Wished you wouldn't have resigned...but I don't know the story. Thanks for coming back from time to time to inform us about things. You were a great asset here on the site.

Well, I certainly would like to see an "ORIGINS" TPB featuring our heroes.
Even though we are getting those 2-page origins... I want to see what those 2-pagers are based on. I would like to see the "original""origins"!!

I would REALLY like to see DE put out those stories in a format ...much like Marvel is doing now with the MARVEL MASTERWORKS TPBs.

Although I have them in other formats... these are "just right". They look GREAT!! They are beautifully done. And they seem to be well-bound.
And... the price is right. The hardcovers are too expensive... but these are reasonably priced in this troubled economic time.

Thumbs up Looking for "background" on our heroes!!

The "ORIGINS" TPB would be a great start.

I would also like to see IMPORTANT stories from some ... if not all... of our heroes... that would give us a real sense of who each hero was in the 1940's.

Maybe a story or two of an early adventure... a story or two of their most outstanding villain or villains... stories that would try to give us SOME SENSE of who each hero was... and what they were all about.

That would give all of us Fans of Project SuperPowers more of an understanding about who these action heroes are that we're reading about !!

Trouble is.... how do you e-mail DE to let them know you would want a PROJECT: SUPERPOWERS ORIGINS MASTERWORKS .... kind of TPB??

    Anyone know???

    Default Golden Age Rarities Archives

If no real serious commitment like Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, and other publishers to golden age comic book reprints, than at the very least living off those characters, Dynamite should release, even if only scans without color restoration, one fat deluxe edition hardcover volume in regular size, collecting first appearances and a few of the best story highlights, a bit like DC did with a bunch of golden age characters, like “The JSA All Stars”, or “Seven Soldiers Of Victory”; and if a first Dynamite Golden Age Rarities Archives in this fashion is popular enough, then a volume 2 in the same manner could follow. Volume 1 & 2 would absolutely need to have the first appearances of Daredevil, Black Terror, Pyroman, Fighting Yank, the Flame, Hydroman, The Arrow, The Target, and first appearance of the Green Lama from Prize Comics which is not in the Dark Horse 2 volumes. Simply a cheap softcover edition would be a disappointment, and wait too long and an other publisher will steal the show with their own quality golden age volumes, which could go even beyond just Project Superpowers related

    - GOLDEN AGE RARITIES ARCHIVES VOLUME 1 & 2 HARDCOVER (collecting first appearances and highlights of Daredevil, Black Terror, Pyroman, Fighting Yank, The Flame, Hydroman, The Arrow, The Target, Samson, first appearances of the Green Lama from Prize Comics, and others)

I found a little more info on that Supermen book, from the horse’s mouth directly, with a little PDF preview

I think 2 volumes, and only 2, of Golden Age Rarities Archives in good hardcover quality, even if only scans, would be hot sellers, and plenty for most folks; two volumes wouldn't kill Dynamite, or prevent them from moving Project Superpowers forward; in fact both old and new would help each other as complementary related products.
