Does GH Strikes take place in the future? I don't know, I didn't see anything futuristic-looking in the book, so I just assumed it was the present (the original Reid and Kato both have sons about the same age as Britt II and Mulan in the regular book). There doesn't seem to be anything to connect the three main original titles, Kevin Smith's Green Hornet, Green Hornet Year One, and Green Hornet Strikes. My assumption here was that they're simply all taking place (as with the movie-based miniseries) in alternate realities -- although GHYO is clearly set in the past, it's not the past of KSGH, nor is GHS the future of KSGH.

Maybe they should do a Crisis of Infinte Hornets...

It's in the future, but the "near future". Could be five years, could be 20, that I recall it's never been specified.

None of the "eras" are connected, though at the time, Dynamite didn't see fit to point that out, so it was a little confusing at first.

Where did they say that in the story?
    Again:

    1) Nothing futuristic to indicate the near future (and with the way technology moves, you'd think this would be obvious)
    2) The ages of the main characters seem to indicate just about the same time frame as Kevin Smith's Green Hornet

If there was a caption somewhere stating "the near future" (it has been a long time, I've forgotten) I'll take your word for it.

The solicitation for #1 used that very term.

WHO IS THE GREEN HORNET? A hero? A criminal? He doesn't even know, himself...
In a near future where the financial crisis never resolved, Chicago is more corrupt than ever...
I don't recall any mention of it in the book itself though. Also, I don't know that it's part of the current Hornet's future. I never got the sense that it was, because the Strikes Kato has no connection to Mulan that we'r aware of.

So it's in an alternative near future. Probably about an hour or so.

OK, it took me a while, but I finally figured it out. On the DE home page, at the top of the page where it says REGISTER, if you click on that, there's a box to check off that says "Yes, I would like to receive the Dynamite Entertainment Mailer and special offers!" Your IP address should be recognized already (if not, go back and log in first) so that your user name and password are already filled it. Then you just have to update your info on that page by checking the box and retyping the image text, and clicking the submit button.

    Default Green Hornet Strikes #10

Sure looks like this issue "WILL NEVER BE PUBLISHED" ... 2 more months goes by and NADA!!!!!! I hate it when a publisher does this and begins to run-amok in every direction!! Come on DE lets finish what you started, or are we going to see this happen to the other short series like Vampi Red Room, Dejah Thoris and the White Apes, Vampi vs Dracula and Warriors of Mars??????

Dynamite went a little nutty on the Green Hornet franchise, launching FIVE ongoing series (Kevin Smith's Green Hornet, Green Hornet Strikes!, Green Hornet Year One, Kato, Kato Origins) all within a few months, and then adding in a couple of movie-based miniseries within the first year. Oversaturating the market effectively killed every one of those titles in the long run, except for the original (Kevin Smith's) Green Hornet. The "blitz" approach was also in (somewhat lesser) evidence in the rollouts of the Project Superpowers and Kirby Genesis franchises. Various comments I've read in interviews here and there make me think that DE has learned its lesson from these and will roll out franchise titles somewhat more cautiously in the future. It's true that the Warlord of Mars franchise has spawned five titles, but they were staggered in release, with three of them designed as short-run series from the get-go. With the WoM franchise, DE seems to be letting the demand lead the supply instead of adopting an "if you build it, they will come" approach.

Several weeks after this was last talked about, is there even an ETA for this book yet? Will it be solicited all over again or just someday happen to appear among the "in stores this week" list?

So much time has gone by since #9 came out that I doubt we will ever see #10, or a trade collection either for that matter.
