    Default Oi, Dynamite!

Ok, I'm vain but I'm throwing this out here:

Preacher, Scalped, and I'm sure a few examples I'm forgetting--I've seen a lot of creater owned work (and non) with introductions written in them by the higher ups. Y'know, Ennis wrote intros for Scalped, Transmetropolitan, even Millar's Wolverine (which was fun to read). The Boys has had Simon Pegg do the first trade--which was great--and Damon Lindelof--which at least had a beginning, middle, and end. (I'm proud he could provide that much...yeah I'm still kinda pissed/confused/bitter about LOST, I'll man up and say it.)

So we've got Volume 11 wrapping up here soon. I just got Vol 8, 9, 10 in the mail and no intros. At least some pictures of Terror in Vol 9's front cover.

Why not have a fan contest, have some of the guys here email some recommendations? Fook me rigid, you know this board has come characters on it! Set up an email account where we could send what we have to say about Vol 11--or the series at large--and if any are worth the time, throw it in there?

//break now, to the rest of you//
Yes, a very vain thing for me to throw out there. I understand. Am sorry. No harm in asking though, right? Hell if Nick Barrucci takes the time to post in this forum, I say it's worth trying.

What about if Dynamite ran a contest for the fans, where the winners could get artwork published in a pinup section, likely to be published in one of the final issues? hmmm?

Looking at some of the posters in the trades, I'd assumed they'd already done that.

Agreed Simon...but any excuse to have Amanda Conner draw more is a good one!
Blarney I'd be all on board for it. I wish there was a way--other than writing in to the company for fan mail, nothing WRONG with that--that fans could contribute more. Is it professional? Probably not in the grand scheme of things, and fair's fair. But I'd like to see more done for the books in the trade format. You get a copy of Powers and there's an interview/script in the back. Any volume of Scalped has an intro from a big name guy. Different publishers, aye, and I don't mean to criticize Dynamite. But hells bells, I wish there was a way to contribute.

    I hereby submit my entry!

You hold in your hand the only known chronicle of the greatest superhero of our time. The man, the legend: Malchemical. Though he graces only a handful of issues, his legacy continues to this day."

I'm going to put on 3 different types/strengths of suntan lotion on my face, keep a quarter uncovered, and lay in the sun for 2 hours. Upon completion, I shall share with the world my cancerous Malchemical homage.
