Oh, and regarding the whole 'why don't we depict good supes' point. I thought the whole point about the series was blowing away that old cliche. Since when did we look for moderate middle ground in an Ennis book? I suspect someone made the point about making the book more believable if he included a few good supes and his response was Superduper, who are obviously a bit special. I guess there could be room for nice supes in this book, but chances are such characters wouldn't come into The Boys' orbit. So if the book is about The Boys, and the Boys deal with wayward supes, that's who we're reading about. Makes sense, dunnit?

I was thinking, the whole situation with decadent supes is analagous with premier league soccer stars here in the UK. Many of them are massively overpaid simpletons, in the peak of physical condition, who lap up ridiculous hero worship, dress ridiculously and indulge in silly group sex a la Herogasm. Every now and then one of them ends up in the courts for a fight, drunk driving or rape charge and pays an expensive lawyer to get them out of the shit. Honestly, they'd make Caligula blush. If only there was a Butcher ready to give them a judicious kicking every now and then.

The same could be said for the sports stars, celebrities, rock stars, etc. who abuse their popularity and all. Like Butcher said, with great power, comes the certainty you'll turn into a cunt. Not always, just what gets reported in the tabloids, I mean regular press.

That was immediately explained as Mallory saying his family was rich. But on the other hand, that could easily be a lie and was Ennis pointing at something important but not wanting to spell it out just yet.

Tut... you try to make a little cultural adjustment and see what happens.

Damn, I registered just to answer that but my registration took so long that you beat me to it by a couple of days.

RIP Homelander and Black Noir... you guys where my favourite characters in The Boys.

Indeed, since we've all seen Superman use his x-ray vision to selectively make layers of obstruction invisible, such as walls and clothing. BORIS IS WRONG!

    Thoughts-

    1. Who exactly are the "good guys" in any Ennis series? He writes of worlds where everybody is looking out for their own interests, with their paths only altered by naivete, lunacy, or religious zeal.
    2. Why would anybody argue that Annie is a good person/character? What exactly has she done that is good, selfless or heroic? Is "not doing anything bad" synonymous with "being good"?

Talking Annie is, by all definitions, good

    Well, I'll tell ya:

    1. She has perfectly proportioned bajangas.
    2. Said bajangas are frequently on display.
    3. She's no slouch in the sack, and is never afraid to take the lead when it comes to making the sign of the two-backed, eight-legged, wolverine attack beast of love.
    4. She knows when to get on her knees and take care of business.

    I rest my case.
