Flash Gordon Zeitgeist Continues to Astound with Issue 4!
I'm a bit late getting to the latest installment of Flash Gordon Zeitgeist, but now that I've read it, I wanted to come here to continue singing the praises of this series.
A page of repeated dialog aside, this issue continues what has been an exceptional take on a story already told several times, but told this time with fresh twists that well fit Alex Raymond's original intentions. I grew up with Dan Barry's Flash, own the Alex Raymond and Austin Briggs reprints, have copies of the serials and movie, have read everything else from Al Willamson's to Jim Keefe's takes, and if this series keeps up the quality, it's going to be a worthy successor to an outstanding body of work.
And if this excellent "cake" wasn't enough, there's the proverbial "icing" on it: Cameos on a two-page layout that slyly feature, but don't name, two other King Features heroes. What great entertainment!
I agree. I really liked this issue and really liked the cameo by Mandrake and the Phantom.
I think I'm going to give Flash Gordon his own sub forum here on the boards, he deseerves it
Anyhow, I agree that this series has been phenomenal and the writing and artwork have been spot on, great job by all!
Can't wait for issue #5!

Man....these covers blow me away, as does the slick interior art and razor sharp writing! Again, Flash Gordon is another character I scoffed at much like I did with Green Hornet and Tarzan, but now I'm absolutely in love with Flash Gordon and will never miss an issue of this telling tale :-)
Just catching up on some titles after being out of comics for a small while. I picked up Flash Gordon: Zeitgeist #4, loving it like everyone else. But about that dialog error page... is there a fixed version of that, or do we have to wait for the trade to find out what was being said?
The corrected page was included at the end of issue #5 at no additional charge.
