The thing is, Sonja's personal life has never really been the focus of her stories. She bascally doesn't have one (how could she, when she never stays in the same place long enough to form any kind of lasting relationship?) but then, that doesn't really matter because it isn't what the series is about.

it would be really cool to have a contest, were the fans write in and get to ask questions to Roy Thomas, who the majority of fans(myself included) point to as being the father of Red Sonja. The contest could be that we get to vote on the 10 best questions that Roy could answer. That would be awesome. It could even be a poll, and fans vote on the top 10 questions. Heck, put it on the DE main home page, and let EVERYBODY vote. Perhaps it would even get some new readers on board for Ta-tas Mcgee!

Plus, Roy Thomas wouldn't even have to leave his house, so he might agree to it!

Good thread. I found it very informational.

I never knew this about Red Sonja but I find it to be great and makes me more attracted to reading her series.

If I was to pitch a Red Sonja one-shot, I'd want it drawn by Jim Balent for one thing. And it would be a film noir plot in the fantasy setting where the femme fatale role is instead taken by a dapper thief dude, and Sonja gets kinda frisky with the guy throughout. Or, with his thief stealth he could "defeat" Sonja and they get fully frisky, if Dynamite allows. She feels for the dude anyways despite his ultimately villainous film noir criminal ways, and the dude ends up getting killed somehow do to greed or something, print it sell it.
    love this idea, btw
