Default Princess of Mars SyFY Movie

I just watch the Princess of Mars SYFY channel movie based on the ERB books, I have to say it was good, I felt like it stuck close to the source about John Carter. It had Dejah Thoris, Tars, and it even had an airship, all in all not to bad for a SyFY channel movie. The Tharks looked good and it even had Sola in it as well! I downloaded the first five ERB books to my nook. Finished book one and now am on to book two.

ok, so the truth be told this movie realy suck bad!~ I am impressed however that no one took the time to say anything about it. That was 2 hours of my life I will never get back. I did come to learn about the Warlord of Mars because of the DE comic book line, to which I say THANK YOU DE. I enjoy them very much, I have began to read the original works by ERB to which I can only day WOW how amazing is that, He was far ahead of his time with this work. Keep up the good work on the comics and YES this SYFY movie was bad.

I read so many bad reviews that my expectations were real low. When I finally saw it on tv I can honestly say I enjoyed the movie, I have seen much worse.

I think I've given up on seeing a movie based on an Edgar Rice Burroughs series that's worthy of the books. There's supposedly a new Tarzan movie in the works that will use a lot of CG, but honestly I don't hold out much hope. There were bits and pieces of Greystoke, Tarzan the Ape-Man (1980), and Tarzan and the Lost City that worked, if only you could somehow graft them all together, but so far everything's been a letdown. If you could somehow graft the special effects from Jurassic Park together with The Land that Time Forgot (1975) you might have a halfway decent ERB adaptation.

the last Disney movie was totally rad and had a lot of things in it I really and utterly loved!

Will give the ScyFy a look when I stumble across it

Neither actor playing John Carter can act, but at least the one in the SyFy movie looked the part. In all honestly, this was just as bad as the Disney John Carter, but at a fraction of the cost and without the need to resort to suing the company creating comics based on the character.

I agree that Antonio Sabato makes a better Carter than Taylor Kitsch. Talking about the Disney version, I would have cast a wrestler like John Cena or a bodybuilder who could act decently--this is not Shakespeare, given some more muscle to those scrawny tharks and less clothes to Dejah Thoris.

And, especially, less clothes to John Carter. That stupid massive kilt took away a lot of my interest in that move.
