Personally, I have ALWAYS though that Cap was a jerk. He always came off as smug, self-righteous, and a bit of a tool. That's why the only version of him I ever liked was Millar's first run on the Ultimates. Millar just made Cap a straight-up asshole, and it was the first time I ever liked the character.

As much as you may love superhero comics, in the future will you be able to look at a character like Captain America again without thinking, "He seems to have a stick up his a**.", or a character like Superman without thinking, "He seems like an a**hole."? I won't.

Um... sure. But I'm not into Ennis, myself. Even though I love Darick Robertson's art (discovered him on Wolverine), it's not enough to get me to pick up The Boys. And the sort of thing Millar did on Ultimates was the sort of thing that made me almost wholly uninterested in the Ultimate Universe.
