Borellian Nomen

There are probably plans to feature the Borellian Nomen in the Classic Battlestar Galactica? Will Dynamite make a re-imagined version of the Borellian Nomen for the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica?

The re-imagined Nomen being a secret society (think a whacked out version of the Freemasons) who were instrumental in the creation and developement of the Cylons. Tom Zarek is a former member of the Nomen who now fights to expose their hidden agenda. Zarek was known as Captain Dimitry. Dimitry from the 1978 BSG episode The Man with Nine Lives. The Nomen have authorised a Level 4 Blood Hunt against Zarek. Similar to the Fatwa Ayatollah Khomeini put on Salman Rushdie for The Satanic Verses. When the twelve colonies declared all cybernetic research and developement illegal.

The Nomen defy the ban by gaining influence over the twelve colonies civilian/military industrial complex to further the Nomen goal of one day regain control of the Cylons. The Nomen would be offshoots of the Kobolians that worshipped Death and Destruction. Think Kali in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

The Nomen betrayed their former associates which led to the Gods exiling the worshippers of Kali off Kobol because they were too destructive for the Kobolians. That would be from a censored epistle from the Pythia Scrolls, censored because the dangerous doctrines Kali's followers practiced.

The re-imagined Borellian Nomen (for the re-imagined BSG, not the Classic BSG) as a Secret Society Cabal behind most, if not all of The Twelve Colonies high technology including Cylon development was also inspired by www.newamericancentury.org A government think tank 9/11 conspiracy theorists claim was behind the attacks. Some of the people in the Project for a New American Century are Jeb Bush, Richard Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Dan Quayle. A statement from their 'Rebuilding America's Defenses' pdf article states "the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one. ABSENT SOME CATASTROPHIC AND CATALYZING EVENT....LIKE A NEW PEARL HARBOR. Domestic politics and industrial policy will shape the pace and content of transformation as much as the requirements of current mission."

Translated to the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica series: The Nomen become aware the Cylons have returned to the Twelve Colonies and are about to launch their attack. The Nomen never pass along their info of the Cylon plans to the Colonial Military and Civillian Governemnt and allows the Cylon destruction of the Colonies to take place so the Nomen can institute their hidden agenda. "The Nomen take care of their Own. So Say We All!" The Nomen could be a sequel (and prequel) to the conspiracy theory in the BSG episode 'Sacrifice'.

Part of the 9/11 conspiracy theorists is that the Bush administration learned of the Al Qaeda attack before September 11 and did nothing to stop it from happening so they could enact their defense transformation agenda.

The Nomen learn the Cylons have returned to the Twelve Colonies,they don't inform the Colonial Government,The Cylons attack destroying the Twelve Colonies. No big lost to the Nomen because it doesn't require the Twelve Colonies to exist as long as the Nomen high technological assests still does. They can resume their agenda on another planet. Earth or even the Cylon homeworld can suit their purposes.

I must admit, I watched Battlestar Galactica when it was on the telly over here when I was little, and to this day I had not been aware that Paranoid Conspiracy Theories had played such a role in the show...

Paranoid Conspiracy Theories can be a touchy issue. At this early stage of the thread, I would like to ensure that it does not degenerate into a bedlam of 9/11-Conspiracy or WWII-Revisionist foolery. There are, lamentably, a great many sites on the internet which cater to that particular fringe-market. This however is not one of them. I would like to remind posters to keep their contributions on-topic concerning the various Battlestar Galactica titles, rather than using these forums as a spring-board for various socio-political views.

Tommy, ASK FIRST before you edit another persons posts or thread, not doing so is very rude and uncool! I agree about this thread turning into 9/11 Conspiracy theories and WW2 Revisionist foolery. (In my opinion both the Conspiracy theories and Revisioning of History are full of felgercarb (BS). Still, most of the Conspiracy theories would make an interesting TV movie. The major problem is they would be insulting to the murdered persons memory.) Ron Moore's 'Revisionist' Battlestar Galactica has and his upcoming 'Caprica' will have social-political commentary of today's issues adapted into the Battlestar Galactica universe. The Tom Zarek mini-series and The Cylon War won't have any social and political commentary behind the storyline motivations?

Actually, it's that Bush, Rumsfeld and company blew up the WTC and stuff themselves, since the destruction of the WTC defies the laws of physics if it were planes, that the boeing 'conveniently' flies into the just reinforced side of the pentagon, and leaves far to little damage (for one thing the wings seem to have just vaporized because they could even slam into the building, and the plan slamming into the lawn left the lawn undamaged), etc.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. The Nazi's blew up the Reichstag to take control of the Senate and then wipe out the Jews; but this is one building and destroy what they considered an enemy. Bush the same way; they blew up a few buildings, to build fear, so they could justify wars to enrich themselves more.

The attack by the Cylons was to annihilate each and every last single human being, and that includes every single last Nomen themselves and whatever technology they had. Nuked, vaporized, gone. People aren't going to allow an attack to take place, that will vaporize every single last one of themselves, if they could stop it, or at least give everyone a fighting chance.

A couple of buildings / total annihilation, including themselves.
