Default Warlord of Mars as of late...

So, how have you all been enjoying WOM as of late? Personally, I've taken to the book more over the past few months and I've found a renewed interest in it, its been a fun read and the art has been great. Any opinions on it as of recently?

Is it just me or is Dejah Thoris slowing catching up in numbering and becoming the main title as WoM slips further behind with less frequently shipping issues?

I really miss WoM's former steady release schedule, it was pretty consistent for the adaptations of the first two novels but lately we have gotten around 3 issues in maybe 6 months or more ...

Any word on the reasons for the delays?

Nope, it's not just me. Next week (May 8) both Warlord of Mars #24 and Warlord of Mars Dejah Thoris #25 will ship to comic shops. Warlord of Mars began in October 2010, while Warlord of Mars Dejah Thoris began in March 2011 (the same month Warlord of Mars #6 shipped).

At this point in time, Warlord of Mars still sells a little better than Warlord of Mars Dejah Thoris. WoM #23 was ranked #198 in Diamond Comics Top 300 list for February 2013, while WoMDT #22 for that same month was ranked #219. In Diamond's Top 300 list for March 2013, Dejah Thoris and the Green Men of Mars #1 ranked at #214, while the ongoing WoMDT #23 ranked at #234. The original WoM title did not ship that month.

I like the Warlord of Mars but cancelled it way back when. simply because it follows the book pretty much exactly and I read them already.

Its actually deviated a lot from the books in more rcent issues, and . . . well sometimes to its benefit, and sometimes to its detriment . . .

Alas, no issue solicited for August , though we have the cool Jungle/Mars miniseries to look forward to.
