Weird. So now Dynamite is doing "Elseworlds". I'm a big fan of Willingham's Fables, and I love the steampunk genre, but somehow I wish they'd had the confidence in his abilities to just let him do his own thing with original characters. A lot of those old DC Elseworlds stories (like, what if the Justice League had formed in the Old West of the 1870s) just seemed kind of pointless to me, and to be honest that's my initial reaction to this as well.

I'm all over this, what a cool concept and a nice spin on these characters! I've never read Wellingham so it will be nice to see what his style can bring to Dynamite as these come out.

This Steampunk Adventure is such an interesting project and judging by the drawings and things I've seen it looks as if Bill and his team have something special planned for readers that could hopefully lead to more Steampunk stuff coming afterward. The designs are top notch, the story that will be told is really interesting, and the art really seems to be some of the best to ever come out of Dynamite (Ross aside), so I'm confident that this is going to be quite a fun ride as it comes.

The more I look at this, the more curious I become.

It's not a bad way to have one version of an organized universe. There are many characters that are unlikely to interact otherwise.

I'm going to give it a chance. I haven't really gotten into that steampunk stuff until now so this is probably the best introduction possible. I hope it leads to additional volumes down the road too, and more characters given the same treatment. A Black Bat with artificial eyes made from steampunk technology, for example.
