R.L. Stine's classic Goosebumps novels have spooked multiple generations of kids, and now Dynamite Entertainment celebrates the storied history of the tales and specifically its iconic imagery by Tim Jacobus in a new official art book.

"This book is a big 'Thanks!' to the Goosebumps fans for their never ending support for my art," said artist Tim Jacobus. "I’m honored to hold a spot in your collective memories that brings a smile. And of course, thank you Bob Stine, for taking me along on this epic ride. Cheers!”

Since Scholastic first published Goosebumps: Welcome to Dead House in 1992, the series has exploded in popularity among intrepid young readers. The series now includes 62 books, and has spawned television shows, feature films, and several spinoff series, including Goosebumps SlappyWorld. Altogether, the celebrated Scholastic franchise boasts over 400 million copies in print.

Just as important as the thrills and scares inside the books, the captivating covers from artist Tim Jacobus caught readers' attention and helped them visualize the stories. The imagery provided by Jacobus established the visual brand for the series, carrying forward to influence all the numerous adaptations and merchandise. Every 90's kid is intimately familiar with these shocking paintings.

Tim Jacobus, R.L. Stine, writer Sarah Rodriguez, and designer Mark McNabb come together for a walkthrough of all the books and covers in the Goosebumps tapestry. Fans new and old can see how initial pencil sketches evolve into the final piece, as well as countless unused versions.

“I remember picking up my first Goosebumps book in the elementary school library. It was Beast from the East and I was captivated by the beautiful cover," shared writer Sarah Rodriguez. "In fact, every Goosebumps book I ever read was because of the cover. I don’t even like horror stories!”

Designer Mark McNabb added, "From the 1990’s to the present, R.L. Stine’s stories and Tim Jacobus’s artwork have imprinted written and visual memories that will last for generations. I’ve designed over 100 books but this was a true dream job for me, to have an opportunity to create this printed work containing some of the best children's horror fiction and illustrations!”

At 200 full color pages, an oversized hardcover presentation, and insight from the series creators, the book is an indispensable resource for fans.

THE ART OF GOOSEBUMPS is solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors’ February 2021 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in April 2021. Fans are encouraged to preorder copies of the book with their local comic book retailers or preferred book vendors. It will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, ComicsPlus, and more!

Earlier this week, Marvel proudly announced that Storm, one of comic books’ most iconic super heroes, will be joining the Avengers this August! It’s the first step in what promises to be a renaissance for the beloved character as Marvel will also be launching an all-new STORM solo ongoing series in October! Set in the X-Men’s highly anticipated From the Ashes era, STORM will be brought to life by Murewa Ayodele, the acclaimed writer behind Akogun: Brutalizer of Gods who made his Marvel debut last year with Moon Knight: Black, White & Blood and I Am Iron Man, and Lucas Werneck, the superstar artist known for his work on recent X-Men epics like Immortal X-Men and Sins of Sinister. Werneck also designed a stunning new costume for Storm’s exciting new venture into solo storytelling! Storm has always been a prime protector of the planet. With the loss of Krakoa, that position becomes more important to her than ever. From her new super hero headquarters, Storm begins making decisions that will forecast the future of the Marvel Universe. Her bold actions will stir forces around and even beyond Earth, calling forth enemies that match her strength and determination. Storm has never needed a throne to rule the skies. Now, watch in awe as this new series elevates her to the heights that only she can reach! Ororo Munroe has lived many lives. She’s been a thief, a goddess, an X-Man, a queen, and now…an Avenger! She is the most prominent, most respected and most powerful mutant on the world stage—and in that role, she intends to be a force for positive change. First up: a major meltdown at a nuclear facility in Oklahoma City draws Storm from her Sanctuary in Atlanta—and into a moral conflict that will test her iron resolve! As one of the year’s biggest launches, it’ll be packed with guest stars including Storm’s fellow Avengers, X-Factor’s Frenzy, and more! On the challenges Storm will face, Ayodele said, "As a fan of Storm, her duties to the X-Men, and what she stands for in various real-world communities, I would like to assure the audience that Storm is in danger. Extremely so. We love Ororo Munroe, and that is why we have crafted a thrilling story that will put the strength of her character on wide-open display. But when you’re an Omega-level mutant, few things can test your limits, and even fewer things can shatter those limits. For our STORM series, one thing we would like fans to remember is that there are threats that are beyond Omega. Prepare yourselves for an extraordinary display of superheroism that leaves knuckles bloody, knees bashed in, and mountains cratered. "We are building towards gargantuan conflicts that will shake the universe from Planet Earth to the Dimension of Manifestations,” Ayodele continued. “We are crafting stories filled to the brim with humanity, love, mystery, adventure, heartbreak, and ALL-OUT ACTION. Tom Brevoort, the editor behind Marvel’s most universe-shattering events, Lucas Werneck, the incredible artist known for his genius-level attention to design and character work, and I are cooking with supernovas on this series. So join us on this journey that promises to be exciting till the bitter-sweet end. Get ready for an ETERNAL STORM." "I still can't believe that Marvel gave me this gift,” Werneck added. “Storm is a character that I love, and I have so much respect for what this character represents to people. We’re working with so much love and devotion on this project, and I hope that fans enjoy it as much as we're enjoying making it.” Drawn by acclaimed artist Mateus Manhanini, the series’ covers will be just as breathtaking as Storm’s feats! Check out his debut issue cover now, and be there when the clouds part on STORM’s new era this October.

The dust was just beginning to settle and the smell of guzzolene was still in the air after Wednesday night’s high-octane Cannes premiere of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. But after more than a decade of development and a grueling shoot, the work was not done for filmmaker George Miller and stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, who faced the international press during a lively conference to discuss the long journey to their Fury Road prequel. Australian filmmaker Miller has now made five Mad Max films over 45 years, but none have been as anticipated as Furiosa. That’s thanks to the pedigree of Fury Road, Miller’s 2015 film that introduced the world to Imperator Furiosa, played in that feature by Charlize Theron. It is considered one of the greatest action movies of all time and became a surprise awards season juggernaut that won six Oscars. “There are certainly other stories there. Mainly because in order to tell the story of Fury Road, we had to know the backstory of Furiosa and Max in the year before,” said Miller when asked if he has more Mad Max movies left in the tank. “That was a tool for the cast and crew. We know the Max story from the year before. I’ll definitely wait to see how this [Furiosa] goes, before we even think about it.” So far, the reception has been promising. On Wednesday night, Furiosa received a seven-minute standing ovation, one that potentially could have lasted longer as Miller took the microphone to speak, which had the perhaps unintended effect of silencing the applause.
