DYNAMITE SIGNS CHUCK WENDIG AND ALVARO SARRASECA
FOR NEW TUROK SERIES!

The Latest Extension of Dynamite's Gold Key Universe, Launches August 2017

Month 22, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ:  Dynamite Entertainment is proud to announce that the classic pulp comic book series Turok returns with an all-new interpretation of the iconic character courtesy of writer Chuck Wendig (Star Wars: Aftermath, Hyperion) and artist Álvaro Sarraseca (Witchblade). With the debut issue set for release in August 2, 2017, Turok #1 also features a bonus Doc Spektor back-up story by Aubrey Sitterson (Street Fighter X, G.I. Joe) and Dylan Burnett (Weavers), a continuation of the serial in the Turok sister titles, The Sovereigns and Magnus.
In the latest Turok adventure, the fascist Saurian soldiers of the Varanid Empire-part dinosaur, part man, all bad-news-have seized control of the Lost Valley, and only the mysterious dinosaur hunter Turok is willing or able to stand against them! But right now, Turok only cares about one thing: tracking down a mysterious missing girl that could hold all of the clues as to how the Lost Valley has changed from the fantastical prehistoric land readers know and love.
Writer Chuck Wendig says, "I wasn't sure initially about tackling Turok because I wanted to do such a weird and wonderful story world justice -- but then, while talking with Dynamite Senior Editor Matt Idelson about all the stuff going on in the real world, an idea hit me in the chest like one of Turok's arrows. I'm excited to come on board and to hopefully bring something different to the story and to the character, while also keeping the spirit of what makes Turok awesome. And I'm hoping everyone enjoys reading it as much as I've enjoyed writing it!"
Chuck Wendig, comic book writer, screenwriter, and blogger, is best known for his popular website Terribleminds.com, as well as for his 2015 novel Star Wars: Aftermath, which debuted at #4 on The New York Times Best Seller list, and #4 on USA Today's best seller list. In 2013, he was a finalist for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer.
Artist Álvaro Sarraseca says, "I love drawing Turok. I made some character designs of him and finally we chose the wildest. As hunters usually wear the skins of their prey, I asked myself why Turok could not do the same thing? There are no limits for creativity here! This new version of Turok tears apart anything we saw before. I think it will attract new readers who didn't have any previous interest in the character."
"I knew Chuck was both incredibly creative and could bring great depth to his characters, and he's really managed to capture everything that's great about Turok while reinventing the character in a fun and mysterious way," says Matt Idelson, Senior Editor with Dynamite Entertainment. "Álvaro was the miraculous result of a loooong search for the perfect artist for this character and more importantly, Chuck's story.  They make a hell of a team, and their work on the first issue already outshines the serial backup we've been running to set up the series." "When Dynamite launched the Gold Key line in 2014, we were able to introduce new readers to a now reestablished universe, which has since served as the foundation for further series that we have continued to build upon," says Nick Barrucci, CEO and Publisher of Dynamite Entertainment. "With the recent success of our series, The Sovereigns, these legendary characters have taken on a new life of their own, and we're excited to bring the world's first and foremost dinosaur hunter back to the pages of comics!"
The debut issue of Turok features a wide selection of cover variants, providing fans and retailers with the freedom of choice! The cover artwork features the talents of Aaron Lopresti (Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman), interior artist Álvaro Sarraseca, Aaron Conley (Rocket Raccoon & Groot), and Andy Belanger (Southern Cross), respectively. Limited variant editions in "Black & White" and "Virgin Art" formats are also available as retailer incentives for comic shops that support the launch issue by achieving stocking thresholds.
Originally published by Gold Key Comics from 1954 through 1982, Turok, Son of Stone chronicled the adventures of a young Native American man in the 18th century, who finds himself deep in the Carlsbad canyons where he must confront "ancient forms of life which have disappeared from all other parts of the world." Since the original comic book run, Turok continued at several comic publishers before finding its home at Dynamite Entertainment in 2014. In additional to the 2014 and now 2017 eponymous series, the character has also appeared in Dynamite's Doctor Spektor: Master of the Occult, Gold Key: Alliance, and The Sovereigns.
Turok #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' June 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in August. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies of Turok #1 with their local comic book retailers. Turok #1 will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play,Dynamite Digital, iVerse, Madefire, and Dark Horse Digital.

NEW COMIC BOOK ADVENTURES FOR BILL MANTLO & BUTCH GUICE'S
SWORDS OF THE SWASHBUCKLER ANNOUNCED WITH THIRD STRETCH GOAL!

May 4, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Dynamite Entertainment is proud to share the great news that, thanks to the overwhelming support of backers, the current Swords of the Swashbucklers Kickstarter has surpassed not only its original $9,500 goal, but two additional stretch goals. It's with great pleasure that the publisher is now announcing the third and final stretch goal for this Kickstarter campaign: an all-new Swords of the Swashbucklers comic book project with involvement by original series artist Butch Guice and the Mantlo family!

Launched on April 13th, the Kickstarter campaign supports the restoration of the Swords of the Swashbucklers comic series, a creator-owned pirate adventure published by Marvel from 1984 to 1987, as a high-quality collected edition. The support of backers not only gives the long-lost, groundbreaking series the complete and fully-remastered treatment that it deserves, but preserves the prized work of writer Bill Mantlo, an industry great whose career was tragically derailed by a vehicular accident. The new $50,000 stretch goal threshold will continue the adventures of the interstellar pirate vessel Starshadow, its captain Raader, and displaced Earth girl Domino Blackthorne in a full-color project.

The Swords of the Swashbucklers Kickstarter campaign remains active from now until May 12 for backers to contribute toward the new stretch goal:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dynamiteent/bill-mantlo-and-butch-guices-swords-of-the-swashbu

Backers who support the Swords of the Swashbucklers Kickstarter have the opportunity to receive rewards, including t-shirts, digital editions, collectible prints, hardcover upgrades, and hand-drawn illustrations by Butch Guice.

Artist Butch Guice launched his comics career in the 1980s with Rom and Micronauts and became a perrenial favorite at Marvel and DC Comics. Throughout the years, he has illustrated the most recognizable heroes and heroines in public consciousness in the pages of Action Comics, Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis, Captain America, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, JLA Classified, New Mutants, Uncanny X-Men, and many more.

Bill Mantlo rose through the Marvel ranks in the 70s and 80s to become one of their Bullpen's most dependable writers. He scripted over 500 Marvel comic books including Spectacular Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, Micronauts, and Rom: SpaceKnight. Known for his far-flung cosmic adventures and colorful personalities, Mantlo would be partly responsible for bringing to life Rocket Raccoon, the star of the 2014 blockbuster film, Guardians of the Galaxy and this coming May's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. At the height of his career, Bill Mantlo was the victim of a hit-and-run accident in New York City. He suffered a closed-head brain injury that severely impaired his memory, mobility, and fine motor skills. For twenty years, he has resided in a rehabilitation center, where staff assist with nearly all of his physical activities.

Backers who support this Kickstarter will not only grant one of comics' earliest creator-owned projects new life with the premium treatment it deserves, but they'll help get Swords of the Swashbucklers back in print -- and now expand the story with brand-new content -- so that revenue from continued sales can improve the quality of life for Bill Mantlo, a beloved writer and heavy influence on the next generation of comic creators.

 DYNAMITE ANNOUNCES UNDISPUTED STREET FIGHTER™:
THE ART AND INNOVATION BEHIND THE GAME-CHANGING SERIES

The Behind-the-Scenes Retrospective of Capcom's Legendary Game Franchise
Joins Dynamite's Video Game Icons Series, Following Bestselling Art of Atari

April 26, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Hot on the heels of its bestselling video game retrospective Art of Atari, Dynamite Entertainment announces the next volume in its Video Game Icons series, Undisputed Street Fighter™: The Art and Innovation Behind the Game-Changing Series, written by Steve Hendershot and edited by Tim Lapetino.

Since its inception 30 years ago, the Street Fighter™ video game series from Capcom has thrived based on a lethal combination of innovation, style and technique. From first-of-their-kind advances such as selectable characters and secret combo moves, to imagination-capturing characters such as Ryu, Chun-Li, and Akuma, Street Fighter has stayed a step ahead of the competition en route to becoming one of the most enduring and influential franchises in video game history.

Now Street Fighter will get the Video Game Icons treatment. After the popular release of Art of Atari and Art of Atari Poster Collection, Dynamite looks to do it again this October, as Dynamite's Undisputed Street Fighter retrospective will delve into the art, design, gameplay, and storytelling behind Street Fighter, as well as the series' impact on popular culture and game design. Undisputed Street Fighter will feature over 300 pages of in-depth interviews and exclusive, behind-the-scenes looks into the making of the Street Fighter games, while featuring some of the iconic art, design, and imagery from across the Street Fighter universe.

Writer Steve Hendershot says, "The Street Fighter universe is both iconic and vibrant, and I'm thrilled to be telling the story of how its games, characters, and community came to life, rewriting the rules of gaming in the process."

Editor Tim Lapetino says, "Creating Art of Atari was a great experience in connecting with video game fans across the world. The book's popularity showed us the hunger fans have for deep dives into their favorite classic games beyond just nostalgia. We want to tell the stories behind the games. Art of Atari was the launchpad for this series, and we're excited to dig deeper into the creativity, design, and stories that power the beloved Street Fighter franchise this time."

Rich Young, Director of Business Development at Dynamite, says, "I still remember watching battle after battle at the local arcade on the Street Fighter II machine, amazed not only by how awesome these characters were, and how great the game looked and played, but also how good the players were, and how much effort they put into winning each match. Street Fighter helped pave the way for the fighting game genre… and it's still going very strong today. I'm thrilled to be working with Capcom on this book, and the same amazing team that put together Art of Atari!"

Writer Steve Hendershot is an award-winning Chicago journalist and the editorial director of MOVA, the Museum of Video Game Art. He is co-host and producer of the arts-and-culture podcast Cedar Cathedral, and has written for dozens of publications including Crain's Chicago Business, SportsIllustrated.com, NBCSports.com, Chicago Magazine, Booth Newspapers, and Chicago Tribune.

Editor Tim Lapetino is the Series Editor for Dynamite's exclusive line of books, Video Game Icons. In a series that began with the best-selling Art of Atari, Video Game Icons will delve deeply into some of the most influential and popular video game franchises in the world. Lapetino is the author of Dynamite's Art of Atari (as well as unannounced projects slated for 2018), as well as the Executive Director of MOVA, the Museum of Video Game Art.

Undisputed Street Fighter™
(ISBN 978-1-5241-0466-5) will be available at major bookstore chains, online booksellers, and independent bookstores courtesy of Diamond Book Distributors, and to consumers through the comic book specialty market. Undisputed Street Fighter will also be available for purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, and Dark Horse Digital. The Green Hornet is back and on the case! With his aide Kato and their rolling arsenal, The Black Beauty, by his side, The Green Hornet is ready to face the toughest of challenges! On police records a wanted criminal, The Green Hornet is secretly Britt Reid, owner/publisher of The Daily Sentinel. Reid and Kato have traveled to Central City to participate in the futuristic World's Fair, and to get the skinny on the new and potentially dangerous "Newspaper of Tomorrow", a device capable of predicting headlines before events happen.

Writer Fred Van Lente says, "I'm very excited to link these two iconic characters. The Spirit has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid, and the opportunity to pair Will Eisner's legendary creation with a character that has an actual year in its name allowed me to age The Spirit cast fourteen years forward. In our world, the Spirit hasn't been seen since 1952 (the year the strip ended) but suddenly this new guy has appeared in the mask and hat -- one who will look pretty familiar to longtime fans. Who is this guy, and why has he returned? This is the mystery Green Hornet and Kato must solve."
Fred Van Lente is the #1 New York Times bestselling, award-winning writer of comics like Dynamite's The Mocking Dead and Magnus: Robot FighterArcher & Armstrong (Harvey Award nominee, Best Series), Action Philosophers! (American Library Association Best Graphic Novel for Teens), and Cowboys & Aliens (with Andrew Foley), the basis for the feature film.
Artist Bob Q says, "I'm incredibly excited to be working with Fred Van Lente who has written a script that's fun all the way through. Artistically, my plan is to capture that spirit as best I can with a series of ham-handed pencil and brush strokes. What I'm really striving for, though, is to shake up masked-vigilante fashion. It's time to trade in spandex onesies, capes, and pouched belts and get back to some nicely tailored suits and fedoras. If you're going to fight crime, do it with some class."
"The Green Hornet and Will Eisner's The Spirit have been incredibly successful properties for us, thanks to these characters' dedicated and eternal fan base," says Nick Barrucci, Dynamite CEO and Publisher. "We're thrilled that after many decades in print, the characters are still able to resonate with fans - both old and new - across the globe, and now courtesy of a titanic team-up of their trademark trench coats!"
The debut issue of The Green Hornet '66 Meets the Spirit features a wide selection of cover variants, providing fans and retailers with the freedom of choice! The cover artwork features the talents of the award-winning husband and wife team, Mike and Laura Allred (Batman '66X-Force, iZombie), Ty Templeton (Batman 66, The Simpsons) and Javier Pulido (The Amazing Spiderman, Robin: Year One), respectively. Limited variant editions in "Black & White" and "Virgin Art" formats are also available as retailer incentives for comic shops that support the launch issue by achieving stocking thresholds.

The Green Hornet '66 Meets the Spirit #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' May 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in July. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies with their local comic book retailers. The Green Hornet '66 Meets the Spirit #1 will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, and Dark Horse Digital.

Dynamite Entertainment Celebrates First Publication of Iconic
Character Nancy Drew with Special Reddit IAmA

Anthony Del Col, Acclaimed Writer of new Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Series, Will Hold Reddit IAmA on April 28, 2017 in Commemoration

April 18, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Dynamite Entertainment, home to many critically acclaimed comic book series, has arranged for Anthony Del Col, the critically-acclaimed writer of the new Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys: The Big Lie series, to participate in his first Reddit IAmA where he'll discuss the popular new series on April 28th, 2017, the 87th anniversary of Nancy Drew's debut! The IAma will begin at 1 p.m. Eastern time and run for two hours. Fans will be able to submit their questions or follow-along by visiting https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/.
Nancy Drew made her first appearance in print on April 28, 1930, when original publisher Grosset & Dunlap released The Secret of the Old Clock, The Hidden Staircase, and The Bungalow Mystery, the first three books to feature the trailblazing character. At a pivotal time in the fight for women's rights, the strong, independent, and ambitious female character offered a new kind of role model for young women - one which exemplified that women could do anything and everything they set their mind to!
Writer Anthony Del Col says, "Instead of singing ‘Happy Birthday' (trust me, you don't want to hear my singing voice), I'll instead say a few words about Nancy Drew: she's one of the most intelligent, driven, honest, and daring characters ever created," says Del Col. "In writing this new noir take on her, I've discovered the real reason that she's been popular for 87 years (87 years!) is that she's someone to be admired. We all wish we were a little more like Nancy Drew."
Del Col, whose Big Lie series launched in March to rave reviews, is the co-creator and co-writer of the acclaimed series Kill Shakespeare, which has been nominated for both Harvey and Joe Shuster Awards. His latest release, Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys: The Big Lie #2, is available now and can be purchased in-store or online at www.Dynamite.com/Digital.
Jennifer Fisher, author, fan, Nancy Drew memorabilia collector and head of Nancy Drew Sleuths, one of the largest Nancy Drew fan communities, says, "Happy Anniversary to Mystery's IT Girl, Nancy Drew! Smart. Sophisticated. Independent. Fashionable. Fearless. Role model. Nancy Drew is all of these and so much more, a timeless character that has inspired fans of all ages to be trailblazers in their own right for over 85 years."
To participate or follow along during this exciting event, please visit https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA on April 28, 2017 between 1 and 3 p.m. EST and select the IAmA under the Reddit username DelCol.  Follow Anthony on Twitter at www.twitter.com/anthony_delcol to keep up with his latest news, releases, and appearances!

IS THE AVENGER A COLD-BLOODED MURDER?

Writers Kyle Higgins and Joe Gentile Turns the FBI Against a Classic Pulp Hero in All-New Justice, Inc.: The Avenger Series

April 18, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Dynamite Entertainment is proud to announce that Justice, Inc.: The Avenger is set to return in a brand-new four-issue miniseries, Faces of Justice, courtesy of co-writers Kyle Higgins (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Magnus) and Joe Gentile (Zorro, The Green Hornet), and artist Alexandre Shibao (Independence Day). With the debut issue set for release in July, Justice Inc.: The Avenger - Faces of Justice will serve-up a scorching good read for fans to add to their summer reading list.
When the FBI discovers evidence that incriminates Richard Benson in a brutal murder, the Avenger finds himself arrested and subjected to an intense investigation by the Bureau's best agents! Now the Justice, Inc. team must spring into action to save their leader, and discover if there's a sinister plot at play; or could the Avenger actually be guilty of such a heinous crime?

Writer Kyle Higgins says, "The Avenger is one of those great, classic pulp characters who has both an incredibly rich history as well as a long list of modern superheroes who owe their creative inspiration to him. I love pulp, noir, and superheroes, so when Dynamite asked if I'd have any interest in telling a new Avenger story, it was a pretty easy sell for me. I've known Joe Gentile for as long as I've been reading comics. In fact, it was his publishing company, Moonstone Books, that first introduced me to how comics are made, and ultimately set me on the path to becoming a writer. Joe and I have wanted to do something together for years, so when Dynamite called and asked if I'd have any interest in telling a story with The Avenger, the first person I thought of was Joe. Justice Inc. and The Avenger are some of his all-time favorite characters, and I could think of no one better to build a bad-ass pulp story with."
Higgins is a #1 New York Times Best Selling author whose past work includes Nightwing, Batman Eternal, Gates of Gotham, and Batman Beyond 2.0. After spending two years at the University of Iowa, Kyle transferred to Chapman University, where he directed a superhero noir titled The League, about the 1960's superhero labor union of Chicago. In addition to opening doors at Marvel and DC Comics, the film served as a creative launch point for Kyle's 2014 Image Comics series, C.O.W.L.  At present, Kyle is writing the critically acclaimed series Hadrian's Wall at Image, plus the #1 selling monthly title in Boom Studios history, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Writer Joe Gentile says, "The Avenger has always appealed to me because, while his whole reason to fight crime centers on the loss of his wife and daughter, the incident was mainly his fault. Finding peace with that has been such a challenge for him, and really permeates everything he does with Justice Inc. Physically, he isn't built like Superman. As a matter of fact, he's fairly-average sized. But when he walks into a room, his energy commands respect and turns heads. Who doesn't want some of that?"
Gentile has written and edited comics and prose for Zorro, The Green Hornet, Kolchak the Night Stalker, Buckaroo Banzai, The Spider, and many more. Currently he is working on a steampunk novella while teaching bass guitar.
"We're lucky to have a talented crew like Kyle Higgins, Joe Gentile, and Alexandre Shibao on this book," Dynamite Entertainment Senior Editor Matt Idelson added. "The story they've put together is full of everything you'd want from an Avenger series: clever villains, complex mysteries, brilliant investigative work, courage in the face of long odds - and of course, death-defying feats of bravery - but it's also more than just that. The scenario they've created is one that will challenge all the principles that the Avenger and his team of stalwart allies stand for, and all I'm going to say is, it's a lot more complicated than you might think."
The debut issue of Justice Inc.: The Avenger - Faces of Justice features several cover variants, providing fans and retailers with the freedom of choice! The cover artwork features the talents of Tom Mandrake (Batman, New Mutants) and Alexandre Shibao (Batman/Superman), respectively. Limited variant editions in "Black & White" formats are also available as retailer incentives for comic shops that support the launch issue by achieving stocking thresholds.

The Avenger originally debuted in September 1939 as the lead character in an eponymous pulp magazine, published by Street and Smith Publications. Writer Paul Ernst is credited with creating many of the earliest Avenger tales (published under the house writer pseudonym "Kenneth Robeson"), blending the qualities of contemporary pulp heroes like Doc Savage and The Shadow, as well as his own creations that included Seekay, The Wraith, Dick Bullitt, Old Stone Face, the Gray Marauder, and Karlu the Mystic. The Avenger appeared in numerous prose novels, radio programs, and comic books throughout the decades, most recently in Dynamite Entertainment's 2014 revival of the Justice, Inc. series written by acclaimed author Michael Uslan and illustrated by Giovanni Timpano. Justice Inc.: The Avenger - Faces of Justice #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' May 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in July. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies with their local comic book retailers. Justice Inc.: The Avenger - Faces of Justice #1 will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, and Dark Horse Digital.

Dynamite Entertainment will Publish First Issue on July 12

April 18, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Electro-pop sensation Lights reveals the details of her next project, Skin & Earth - an album and comic book series written and illustrated entirely by Lights herself. The digital intro issue will be released in June, with the official print version on sale July 12 via Dynamite Entertainment. The monthly comic book series will kick off just before Comic-Con International, with new music released alongside each issue, leading into the release of Skin & Earth, Lights' upcoming full-length studio album on Warner Bros. Records.

"I feel my whole life has lead up to a project like this" says Lights. "It's a complete convergence of everything I love - music, comics, post-apocalyptic romance, crystals, wine and powerful ladies, all perfectly entwined. It'll be by far my most care-free and fierce album yet. I think now, more than ever, people need a reason to listen to a whole record, and this is mine."

"In recent years, the worlds of comic books and music have come together to produce some of the most exciting and immersive books on stands," says Dynamite CEO and publisher, Nick Barrucci. "To have the opportunity to work with such a talented and dedicated musician who is both writing and drawing the series herself will be a truly unique treat for both her fans and ours."

The comic series follows a young woman, En - a reflection of Lights herself - as she struggles to find hope in a hopeless world. Caught between romance and cults, gods and mortals, En is led down a dark path by new friends/lovers into a twisted fantasy world, forcing her to dig within and find the strength to overcome. Set in a post-apocalyptic future where corporations rule, Skin & Earth is an adventurous tale of loneliness and deceit, but ultimately becomes one of self-discovery and independence.

DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES CENTIPEDE, THE LATEST
TITLE IN THE ATARI COMIC BOOK REVOLUTION

Writer Max Bemis and Artist Eoin Marrow Deliver
A Harrowing Sci-Fi Tale of Monsters and Revenge

April 17, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Dynamite Entertainment continues its partnership with Atari®, one of the world's most recognized producers of interactive entertainment, to create a new comics line based on beloved Atari® video game titles. The two entertainment juggernauts are pleased to announce that Centipede will join the recently released Swordquest as the latest title in the retrogaming series. Launching in July, Centipede #1 will bring a tale of survival and vengeance to comic book and gaming fans everywhere, courtesy of writer Max Bemis (Worst X-Man Ever, Foolkiller) and artist Eoin Marron (Sons of Anarchy: Redwood Original).
Sci-Fi, horror, and action collide in a comic for fans of Aliens, The Thing, and Predator. When a terrifying creature from beyond the stars attacks his planet, protagonist Dale's journey begins, but he is not out to save his world; its already much too late for that. As the lone survivor, the only thing Dale wants is revenge.
Writer Max Bemis says, "I'm honored to be a part of bringing Centipede to life and to be allowed to do it in a somewhat less than conventional and dangerous way. Expect many mushrooms."

Artist Eoin Marron says, "My favorite aspect of working on Centipede: Game Over is being able to take the core concept and expand on it in a way the original couldn't at the time. That means developing a whole new world - one that's similar to ours but not quite - and tearing it all down again from the very first issue. So, if you like your post-apocalyptic, last-man-on-Earth scenarios to be dripping with a tongue-in-cheek self-awareness and dry sense of humor, you're going dig what we're doing on this."
"When Dynamite announced the launch of the Atari comic line, fans widely shared their excitement across social media, reminiscing over their fondest memories of hours spent in the Arcade and in front of their favorite Atari games," says Nick Barrucci, Dynamite CEO and Publisher. "With the addition of Centipede to our Atari line, we'll be able to bring that same excitement to the die-hard fans that worked hard to bring down the evilest of insects! And thanks to the massive success of Atari's Flashback console, an entirely new generation will be able to enjoy both their catalogue of groundbreaking games, as well as the complementary comic series!"

The debut issue of Centipede features a wide selection of cover variants, providing fans and retailers with the freedom of choice! The cover artwork features the talents of Francesco Francavilla (Detective Comics, Zorro, Will Eisner's The Spirit: Corpse-Makers), interior artist Eoin Marron, and Dan Schkade (Will Eisner's The Spirit). A special classic game art cover will also be available. Limited variant editions in "Black & White," "Homage," and "Virgin Art" formats are also available as retailer incentives for comic shops that support the launch issue by achieving stocking thresholds. Fans will also be excited by the Classic Atari mini-comic incentive, a remastered reissue of the whimsical 32-page mini-comic (measuring 5" x 7.75") which was originally packaged with the Atari cartridge of its namesake.

Centipede #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' May 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in July. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies with their local comic book retailers. Centipede will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, and Dark Horse Digital.
