Dynamite; $3.99 According to Thomas Wolfe, “You can’t go home again.” But Mr. Wolfe didn’t mention anything about going home to your past. In the first issue of Twilight Zone a successful writer flies back to his hometown for a book signing. What he finds is more than he anticipated when he finds himself face to face with his younger self. Upon encountering his younger self, he must decide if he should help the troubled, abused boy or leave him to suffer knowing what the future holds after that suffering is endured. The story written by Mark Rahner is very interesting both for its philosophical and ethical quandary. The question posed to this man is one anybody would struggle to answer. On top of that is the eerie, unsettling feeling leading up to these moments. The weight of the title is enough to warn readers that this plane ride will not be the usual trip. Edu Menna’s art aides the story by drawing characters with haggard visages, setting the tone for a story both complicated and thought provoking. This first issue comes with covers by Guiu Vilanova, Francesco Francavilla, Jay Shaw, and Jonathan Lau.

MIKE CAREY IS JOINED BY ARTIST KENAN YARAR TO BRING
DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT'S BARBARELLA TO COMICS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 35-YEARS!

Dynamite is First American Publisher to Ever Create New Stories
for the Iconic Character!

September 19, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ:  Timed to coincide with the celebration of legendary heroine Barbarella's 55th anniversary, Dynamite Entertainment is pleased to announce that the iconic character's first-ever American comic series, and first new comic series in more than 35 years, is now set to feature the critically-acclaimed artistic stylings of Turkish artist Kenan Yarar (Hilal). Yarar joins writer Mike Carey (X-Men, Lucifer, The Girl with All the Gifts), and longtime Barbarella brand custodian and consulting editor Jean-Marc Lofficier, on the revolutionary new series slated for release this December!  "When I was first told of Dynamite Editor Matt Idelson's Barbarella project, I thought it was fascinating," says artist Kenan Yarar. "Even though Barbarella is unruly, bold, attractive and sexually appealing, she wasn't objectified and she has a strange universe that may lead to countless eccentric worlds. The thing that compelled me to absolutely take part in this project was reading Mike Carey's script. The script was masterful and enjoyable in addition to having a solid philosophy and subtext to be the answer if someone bothered to ask me what kind of a comic book I'd like to work on as an artist. Also, the script demanded costumes, weapons, ships and worlds to be redesigned; the kind of work I delight in. I hope to present the script and Barbarella to Dynamite readers as fine and sophisticated as they truly are." Kenan Yarar was born in 1970 in Kayseri, Turkey. When he was one-year old, Yarar's family moved to Istanbul where he continued his formal education through high school. At that point, he willingly decided to cease his formal education since it was weary and inadequate for his artistic and penciling skills which were already noticed. Yarar looked at several media to channel his art. Although he got many jobs as a graphic designer and cartoonist, his sequential art tendency was noticed by comic book masters in every newspaper he worked at. Yarar got almost all the support and sequential art training at that era in his life. When he was 21, his comic works started to be published in small magazines. Soon after that his stories and art style caught interest and along with increasing sales trend for monthly and weekly publications he started to regularly create comic work.  The most important character created by Yarar is Hilal, a beautiful and rebellious girl with school problems which has the devil stalking her ever in disguise. He also penciled short stories and Tales of Psychosis in which he illustrated dark stories of urban life and urban people dramas and absurdities. Kenan Yarar has been writing and illustrating comic books regularly for the last 25 years. He lives in an apartment which he uses as a home studio and shares it with a crow, a pigeon and a cat. Created by Jean Claude Forest in 1962, Barbarella was introduced at the heart of the Sexual Revolution, and is forever ingrained in pop culture after Jane Fonda's unforgettable portrayal in the 1968 cult-classic film. She was a key figure in the fertile battleground of French comic books and the struggle for sexual freedom in the medium, and has not appeared in a new series since her last appearance in the legendary science fiction publication, Heavy Metal. "I'm really excited to be working with Kenan Yarar," says writer Mike Carey. "He's an artist with an exuberant, dazzling, playful style that's perfect for the book - and he's a great collaborator, always coming up with left-field solutions to narrative problems." "I am delighted with the selection of Kenen Yarar, says Barbarella consulting editor Jean-Marc Lofficier. "His preliminary sketches have shown both a spirit and a style that brings a new life into the character; it is faithful without being imitative." "The first time I saw Kenan's art, my jaw just dropped," says Matt Idelson, senior editor for Dynamite. "His work is extraordinary, and it straddles an impossibly fine line between the utterly fantastical while staying grounded and keeping you in the story.  The level of detail and thought he brings to everything he draws, be it from the real world or the world of the imagination is remarkable.  I knew he had to draw the book from that first moment." "We are extremely proud to not only be the first publisher to bring the iconic character back to print in more than 35 years, but to be the premiere American publisher to have the honor in Barbarella's history," says Dynamite CEO/Publisher Nick Barrucci.  "To be able to work together with the incredible talents of Mike Carey, now combined with the artistic brilliance of Kenan Yarar, we're certain we've brought in the perfect team to do her legacy justice.  I cannot thank Jean-Marc and the estate enough for bestowing this honor on us."  Dynamite Entertainment first announced the return of Barbarella to comic books in October of 2016, welcoming the sci-fi icon to their stable of strong female heroines alongside Red Sonja, Vampirella, Sheena, Dejah Thoris (of Warlord of Mars), and more. In July 2017, Dynamite Entertainment announced visionary writer Mike Carey would helm the new series, to rave review! In addition to this original comic book stories, Dynamite plans to develop Barbarella in further categories which include potential art books and 3D figurines. Barbarella will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' October 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in December. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies of Barbarella #1 with their local comic book retailers. Barbarella #1 will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, Madefire, and Dark Horse Digital.

DYNAMITE ANNOUNCES CREATOR AND LAUNCH DATE FOR SOLSTICE,
THE LATEST ENTRY IN THE ICONIC JAMES BOND UNIVERSE

Ibrahim Moustafa Named Writer and Artist for the New
One-Shot
Hitting Stores this November!

August 24, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ:  Dynamite Entertainment is excited to announce the upcoming release of James Bond: Solstice, the latest installment in their critically-acclaimed and ever-expanding James Bond universe. Multi Eisner-Award nominee Ibrahim Moustafa (Jaeger, High Crimes) has been named as both writer and artist on this visually stunning 30-page one shot, which is expected to hit shelves November 22, 2017.
In James Bond: Solstice, 007 accepts a mysterious, unofficial mission in Paris. He's to pursue a dangerous Russian, and do…what is necessary. But is Bond the hunter, or the hunted? Writer/Artist Ibrahim Moustafa said, "I am an absolute James Bond fanatic! I have a deep love of the character and his sense of duty within his world of smoky card rooms, tailored suits, refined tastes and eccentric villains. Like most, my affinity for the gentleman spy began with the film franchise, but the original literary version of Bond would eventually become my favorite iteration of the character. I was absolutely thrilled when Dynamite launched their James Bond series depicting Fleming's Bond in a modern context, and the opportunity to tell a story within that setting is quite literally a dream come true for me. Working with editor Nate Cosby has been one of the most rewarding collaborations that I've had working in comics, and I'm very grateful to the folks at Ian Fleming Publications Ltd. and Dynamite for the opportunity to send 007 on a mission of my very own!"
Ibrahim Moustafa is a comic book artist and writer from Portland, Oregon. His previous works include the Eisner nominated series' Jaeger and High Crimes from Stela and Dark Horse Comics respectively, Savage Things and Doctor Fate from DC/Vertigo, Mockingbird for Marvel Comics, and covers for Dynamite Entertainment, BOOM! "We're always so thrilled to work with Ibrahim," says Dynamite CEO and Publisher, Nick Barrucci. "His talent knows no bounds, and his uncanny ability to master everything he touches made him the clear choice to take on our latest Bond tale. The term Solstice is synonymous with ‘pinnacle,' ‘zenith,' or ‘apex,' which Ibrahim exemplifies in all of his works!"  In 2014, Dynamite Entertainment made headlines across the comics industry and beyond with the news that the New Jersey publisher had secured the license from Ian Fleming Publications Ltd to produce the first James Bond comics in 20 years. The first series, written by Transmetropolitan writer Warren Ellis, launched the following year to widespread critical acclaim, and was a breakout success in the comics specialty market. Subsequent James Bond story lines include Diggle and Casalanguida's Hammerhead and Kill Chain, James Robinson and Aaron Campbell's Felix Leiter, Benjamin Percy and Rapha Lobosco's Black Box, Kieron Gillen and Antonio Fuso's Service Special, Jody Houser's Moneypenny, and the first-ever comic adaptation of Flemings's first James Bond novel, Casino Royale, from Van Jensen and Dennis Calero.
James Bond: Solstice will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' September 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in November. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies of James Bond: Solstice with their local comic book retailers. James Bond: Solstice will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, Madefire, and Dark Horse Digital.

THE ORIGINS OF POPULAR VIDEO GAME CHARACTER, AGENT 47, SET TO BE EXPLORED AS DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES CREATIVE TEAM AND LAUNCH DATE FOR AGENT 47: BIRTH OF THE HITMAN

Dynamite Names Christopher Sebela and Jonathan Lau as Creative Team,
With Launch Set for October 2017!

August 1, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Dynamite Entertainment is thrilled to announce that writer Christopher Sebela (Hellraiser, Injustice: Ground Zero, Green Lantern/Space Ghost), and artist Jonathan Lau (Bionic ManBattlestar Galactica) are set to team up to bring the world of the popular video game franchise Hitman to the pages of comics, thanks to a new partnership with transmedia outfit Gunpowder Studios, in conjunction with video game developer IO Interactive. Dynamite's new series, entitled in Agent 47: Birth of the Hitman is set to launch October 11, 2017, and will delve into the origin of one of gaming's most infamous characters, Agent 47!
47 and his handler, Diana Burnwood, are a team responsible for some of the most ruthless, efficient and untraceable assassinations across the globe. But before they were operatives of the shadowy International Contracts Association, 47 and Burnwood were on their own separate paths in life - streets lined with blood, bullets and revenge. As 14-year-old Diana begins a mission to track down the people who killed her parents, 47 is struggling to free himself and his friend, 6, from the mysterious Institute which has bred them as killers since they were kids. With a story that stretches from the heartland of America to the Berlin Wall, Lone Wolves will trace the birth of the legendary Hitman and the secret past of the woman behind him who pulls the string and knows just how hard taking a life truly is.
Writer Chris Sebela said, "I've always loved murder stories, so when Dynamite asked if I had any ideas about a Hitman book, all my gears started to race right off their spindles. Of course, I did. But as much as I love the assassination playground setup of the games, what lured me in was figuring out how someone becomes an apex predator and how, with each new acquired skill, something more vital gets lost or sacrificed along the way. Not just for Agent 47, but also with his handler - the woman who chooses their jobs and points him at a target. Every job and life 47 takes can potentially swing the tides of history on a whim, and seeing how it all intertwines through a history we thought we knew was the final magical element that I needed to get to work and I'm really excited to get it out there."

Christopher Sebela is a two-time Eisner-Award nominated writer forever hard at work in Portland, Oregon. He's the co-creator of Heartthrob, High Crimes, We(l)come Back, Dead Letters and Short Order Crooks as well as having written things like Kiss/Vampirella, Detective Comics, Escape from New York, Captain Marvel, Injustice: Ground Zero and Demonic. He is a fan of dogs, coffee, horror movies and writing about himself in the third person.  Artist Jonathan Lau said, "I played the games and watched the movies so I was a fan from the get go, so choosing Hitman was a pretty obvious choice for me from among the many other properties from DE. I was protective at the outset in the sense that I love the character so much I wouldn't want other artists who are unfamiliar with Agent 47 to handle him. His persona of being robotic, very calculating, apathetic, emotionless, and always wearing a dead-pan face, has engrossed me ever since. In one sense he's easy to draw, but on the other hand, the environment is the most tedious and time-consuming part to work on, as it feels alive and ever-changing.  As a fan, I'm enjoying creating this world from a fan's point of view. If I get thrilled at every turn of the page, and if that suspense holds for fans, then I know I've accurately depicted the world of Hitman as it truly deserves to be."   Jonathan Lau has been an exclusive artist with Dynamite since the inception of his career. Beginning with Battlestar Galactica, Lau then joined the creative teams on The Green Hornet, and Bionic Man based on undeveloped screenplays from director Kevin Smith. Lau also contributed to a number of mini-series including Peter Canon Thunderbolt, Miss Fury, Solar Man of the Atom and Pathfinder, as well doing alternate covers for many of Dynamite's titles. His artist strength lies in his pulse-pounding action scenes, and states his biggest influences come from Manhwa or Kung Fu comics.  Dynamite Editor Anthony Marques said, "I am incredibly excited to be working with Chris and Jonathan on this. The creative team for Agent 47: Birth of the Hitman couldn't be more well suited for this title and is sure to deliver all of the action and thrills of the Hitman universe that fans have come to know and love from the games. The story will shed a light on the mysterious Agent 47 and bring readers into his world in a completely new and exciting way." Rune Bendixen from Gunpowder Studios, a transmedia outfit, said that "the world of Hitman is immense and rich. We had to give the millions of fans a chance to learn more about this character."
"We will be exploring 47's legendary past, but rest assured that it is also one full of surprises," said fellow transmedia producer Jean Pierre Magro.
"IO Interactive is truly excited about this collaboration. The 'world of assassination' is a vast, sprawling place and there are many important events and unique exciting story lines, which are perfect for the comic book format. Agent 47 will be directly connected to the overarching story in the ongoing Hitman game and the comic book is instrumental in our continued goal to expand and reimagine the Hitman universe, " said Michael Vogt, Lead writer on Hitman. "It's been an honor to work with everyone involved in this project," said Nick Barrucchi, CEO and Publisher of Dynamite. "IO Interactive has long been a leader in cutting-edge game development, which is a perfect match for the cutting-edge style that Chris Sebela and Jonathan Lau bring to all of their work. We're excited to bring one of the most popular game franchises in history to the pages of comics, and to provide fans of the game with an entirely new experience set within the world they've come to know and love!"   Hitman, developed by Danish company IO Interactive, was initially released in 2000 to rave reviews and has received several follow-up installments since. Revolving around Agent 47, the stealth video game series follows the cloned assassin-for-hire as he is hired by wealth and elite clients thanks to his flawless record. The cross-platform game franchise also features two novels, Hitman: Enemy Within and Hitman: Damnation, both written by William C. Dietz. The series also saw the loosely based film adaption, Hitman, in 2007, and again in 2015 with Hitman: Agent 47.
Agent 47: Birth of the Hitman #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' August 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in October. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies of Agent 47: Birth of the Hitman #1 with their local comic book retailers. Agent 47: Birth of the Hitman #1 will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, Madefire, and Dark Horse Digital.

Nearly 60 years after Candy Kitchen, New Mexico, was founded, artist Jacque Evans purchased the abandoned ranch to be her home. Jacque had a great love for wolves and wolf-dogs and became aware of the increasing number of unwanted animals and their special needs. She realized her land could become a refuge and opened her life and home to the animals. In 1991, Jacque founded "The Candy Kitchen Wolf and Wolf-dog Rescue Ranch" and supported animal rescues by selling her artwork. News of Jacque's devotion to the animals quickly spread, and soon, the rescue ranch began to expand.
Barbara Berge was rescuing wolf-dogs in Albuquerque and met Jacque through a rescued animal named Sable in June of 1992. Realizing a common dream, Barbara moved to Candy Kitchen in 1993 to help Jacque transform her rescue ranch into a non-profit organization.
In October 2003, Candy Kitchen Rescue went through reorganization and became Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary. At this time, Leyton Cougar took over the position of Executive Director.
