Everyone's favorite She-Devil With a Sword, Red Sonja, is back in the new series Sonjaversal this February - but this time she's joined by many, many Sonja's of all colors and more!    Critically acclaimed writer Christopher Hastings ( Unbelievable Gwenpool, Adventure Time), artist Pasquale Qualano ( Dejah Thoris), and letterer/designer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou have assembled to depict this cataclysmic crisis threatening the entire multiverse. This self-described "most important comic book to ever come out in the history of the world" cannot be missed by fans of crossovers and mashups that dial it up to eleven. "My favorite projects are the ones where I ask 'How are they letting me do this?' and in this case, Dynamite isn't just letting me do this, they've explicitly asked me to," said writer Christopher Hastings. "Our mission with Sonjaversal is to go as big as possible, and our only enemy is restraint. I can't wait for everyone to see what he does with this comic." It's roll call time. The classic Red Sonja that everyone knows and loves going back nearly 50 years is front and center of course. This time she's joined by Blue Sonja, ripped right out of a 1980s action blockbuster, with big guns, a big bike, and bigger explosions. How about Green Sonja, aka the She-Devil With a Dinosaur? Or mecha pilot Sonja? Others that fans will meet include Orange Sonja, Saint Sonja, Hell Sonja, and countless others. Only limited by how much Pasquale puts up with Christopher's boundless script. What has brought all these diverse She-Devils together? They've all pissed off a divine force, and as punishment Saint Sonja must travel from world to world, forcing the Sonja's to battle in the ultimate tournament arc. The showdown for Sonja supremacy begins in 2021! With a nearly endless cast of visually unique characters (and first appearances!), it was a must to call in an equally wide cast of cover artists to depict some of the standouts. Jae Lee fits as many as he can onto the lead cover. Joseph Michael Linsner's paints do wonders for the fiery effects of Hell Sonja. The mysterious Purple Sonja gets a spotlight from Mayara Sampaio. While Will Robson and cosplayer Tabitha Lyons stick to tradition with the one and only Red. A trio of incentive covers by Drew Moss, Lauren Walsh, and Erica Henderson show off other cast members like a cyborg Sonja. Could even more be coming?

Demi Moore makes her debut in Cannes’ Official Selection this weekend as co-star of Competition title The Substance, and here is a first look via Deadline. Moore stars in the blood-splattered thriller with Margaret Qualley and Dennis Quaid. The Substance is the second feature from French director Coralie Fargeat, who made waves with gory thriller Revenge, which world premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2017. The new movie, billed as a body horror with a feminist take, revolves around a new product called ‘The Substance’ which promises to transform people into the best dream version of themselves. Sutton Foster, just off a run in Sweeney Todd, will star in a musical revival of Once Upon a Mattress on Broadway this summer. The production is a new adaptation by Amy Sherman-Palladino that debuted in a two-week engagement co-starring Michael Urie at New York City Center’s Encores in January. Directed by Lear deBessonet, Mattress will begin previews at Broadway’s Hudson Theatre on July 31, with an opening night set for August 12. The musical is an updated adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen story The Princess and the Pea and features music by Mary Rodgers, lyrics by Marshall Barer and book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller, and Marshall Barer. Mofac Animation has found Jesus.Oscar Isaac has signed on to portray Jesus Christ in The King of Kings, the animated family film being made by the South Korean-based animation house. At the same time, Forest Whitaker has been tapped to give voice to the apostle Peter. The duo join a growing A-list voice cast that includes Kenneth Branagh, Uma Thurman, and Jojo Rabbit actor Roman Griffin Davis. Seong-ho “Jay” Jang, known as a visual effects pioneer in Korea, is directing King of Kings while Anfernee Kim (Last Knights, John Woo’s The Crossing 2) is producing. The faith-based feature is very loosely inspired by The Life of Our Lord, a little-known Charles Dickens short story that was published posthumously and that depicted the life and times of Jesus. Signature Entertainment has picked up UK and Irish rights to Unit 234, a thriller starring Don Johnson (Knives Out), Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan: First Kill) and Jack Huston (Kill Your Darlings) from sales agent Radiant Films. The feature is directed by Tennant from a script written by Derek Steiner and is produced by Blythe Frank (Being Charlie), Hadeel Reda (The Ride), Lee Dreyfuss (The Misfits) and Productivity Media’s William Santor (Stockholm) and Doug Murray (Unplugging). The synopsis: After the shocking discovery of an unconscious man in a locked unit, the lone employee of a remote storage facility must fight to survive the night against a ruthless gang, dead set on retrieving their precious cargo – at any cost. The dust was just beginning to settle and the smell of guzzolene was still in the air after Wednesday night’s high-octane Cannes premiere of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. But after more than a decade of development and a grueling shoot, the work was not done for filmmaker George Miller and stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, who faced the international press during a lively conference to discuss the long journey to their Fury Road prequel. Australian filmmaker Miller has now made five Mad Max films over 45 years, but none have been as anticipated as Furiosa. That’s thanks to the pedigree of Fury Road, Miller’s 2015 film that introduced the world to Imperator Furiosa, played in that feature by Charlize Theron. It is considered one of the greatest action movies of all time and became a surprise awards season juggernaut that won six Oscars. “There are certainly other stories there. Mainly because in order to tell the story of Fury Road, we had to know the backstory of Furiosa and Max in the year before,” said Miller when asked if he has more Mad Max movies left in the tank. “That was a tool for the cast and crew. We know the Max story from the year before. I’ll definitely wait to see how this [Furiosa] goes, before we even think about it.” So far, the reception has been promising. On Wednesday night, Furiosa received a seven-minute standing ovation, one that potentially could have lasted longer as Miller took the microphone to speak, which had the perhaps unintended effect of silencing the applause.
