DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT AND CONDÉ NAST PARTNER ON
NEW DOC SAVAGE LIMITED COMIC BOOK SERIES

The Team Behind The Twilight Zone / The Shadow Reunite
to Take on "The Man of Bronze"

January 20, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: The dynamic duo behind this year's The Twilight Zone / The Shadow crossover has teamed up with Condé Nast to take on another pulp hero in the four-issue limited comic-book series, Doc Savage: The Ring of Fire! David Avallone (Legenderry: Vampirella) and Dave Acosta (Red Sonja, Vampirella, Swords of Sorrow) are reuniting for four issues of pulp-fueled espionage and intrigue! Set in 1938, The Ring of Fire delivers thrills aplenty as FDR's America faces a string of national disasters: beloved aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart is missing, volcanoes are going off under US Navy bases, and villains from the Silver Death's Heads gang are trying to kill Doc Savage!

"My father, pulp fiction writer Michael Avallone, was the world's biggest Doc Savage fan, and I grew up with the full set of Bantam paperbacks in the house," says writer David Avallone. "When Dynamite's Senior Editor Joseph Rybant asked if I was interested in doing a Doc series, I jumped at the chance. Dave Acosta and I are working hard to deliver a supersaga in the classic Kenneth Robeson / Lester Dent tradition. I can't wait for people to see it."

"This year's Twilight Zone / The Shadow miniseries was a lot of fun, and really showed what this team could do with pulp heroes and their rich history," says Dynamite CEO and Publisher, Nick Barrucci. "We knew that we had to get David and Dave back together on a project as quickly as we could, and with all the buzz around Doc Savage right now, this seemed the perfect way to go!"

"The appetite for new pulp hero content has never been stronger among comic book fans," said Cathy Hoffman Glosser, Senior Vice President, Licensing at Condé Nast.  "We're thrilled to continue our long-standing partnership with Dynamite Entertainment on this exciting new Doc Savage comic book miniseries, and we look forward to exploring even more ways we can tap into our incredible archive of famed Street & Smith characters in the future."

Artists Brent Schoonover (Astonishing Ant-Man) and Anthony Marques (Green Hornet: Reign of the Demon) will be providing cover variants for each issue in the Ring of Fire miniseries.

Doc Savage: The Ring of Fire is solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' January 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in March. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies with their local comic book retailers. Doc Savage: The Ring of Fire will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, and Dark Horse Digital.
