Damn you for teasing me. I thought there was some news about a revival or reprinting of the first "new pulp" paperback series.

I had most of the originals and really enjoyed them. I now have 2 of the short story collections. I real with it had taken off.

I still have all the ones I bought originally. The 4 anthology volumes were the best of the bunch, because they gave you a variety of characters. There were a few of the novels that I originally passed on. Considering the current "New Pulp" movement (which probably wouldn't have gained any traction beyond some small-circulation fanzines, were it not for the internet and print-on-demand services), editor/book packager Byron Preiss was remarkably prescient in putting this series together. Must have been something in the air then, as Philip Jose Farmer was also deep into his Wold-Newton writings at the time as well. I think Doc Savage, The Avenger, The Shadow and all of ERB's novels were (or had been just recently) available in paperback at the time, too.
