  • I just got back from it and found it was a lot of fun. There were times that Rogen was a little much to take, and the fight in the mansion felt more like an episode of The Pink Panther than The Green Hornet...

...but that's minor stuff. Overall, it was quite entertaining.

I haven't seen it talked about much, but I'd like to think that it wasn't a coincidence that, in what ended up being the Hornet's unofficial first appearance, he dressed like the Golden Age version. If that's the case, that's cool.

I'm going to see if this is available locally, but one way or another I'm going to end up with this thing at some point.

        • The freebie magazine at the theater had a two page history of the character which of course included Dynamite's current publishings.

So nice little bit of exposure there, except that their reference to Kevin Smith's book included a panel from Blood Ties of that hornet punching Kato in the face at the beginning of #1. Of ALL the art they could have used, they chose that.

Noticeably strong Asian presence in my theater too, reinforcing the comments I'd heard about Jay Chou's popularity.

          • I thought I was looking at Wagner's Year One when the movie started.

            • Green Hornet by Gold Key

I'm hoping Dynamite will reprint Gold Key's Green Hornet comic books including the original covers. The series only ran for 3 issues. I never read them. I don't know how good they are. I would certainly be interested in reading them to find out. They could call it Green Hornet Gold Key remastered or Green Hornet Silver Age remastered.

              • It's been a while but I remember the art as being pretty bad. Don't remember much about the stories.
I have them in digital files and just looked at them again. The art is about typical for the time period. The stories were ok.

If anyone has the covers and some interior pages to look at, we will be happy to consider.

                        • These are definitely worth reprinting. I really like the covers. As long as Dynamite reprints them with the original covers, I will buy them.

                              • Look at friggin' Kato on that second cover. If I saw that in front of me, my only question would be how he'll choose which appendage to kill me with.
