    Of those listed, I was familiar only with Hastings, Powell's, Books-A-Million, and Half-Price Books... and those, only by virtue of their online presence. That leaves only Barnes & Noble as the sole remaining brick and mortar chain that has locations in my area.
    I've got a B&N and A BAM in my area. The BAM is actually in an old Borders.

      And checking the Books-a-Million website, it looks like I may have one not too far away. It appears it may be at a shopping mall I haven't been to in nearly a decade. (They use to have a Waldenbooks there, too . . . I use to work at that one when I first moved to Connecticut.)
