    • Good interview, and I really dig that cover for #2. I like the idea of bouncing around the timeline in this first arc, so we not only see the origin, but we get to see him in the costume in issue #1 as well. I know that was a heavy complaint about the Lone Ranger. He didn't put on a mask until #3, and then he still wasn't truly the Lone Ranger until #5. Nice that there will be no place for similar complaints for this series.

      • Hey Mikey,

I think the mask thing is more of a maturity issue between the two characters with the circumstances of Zorro's origin differing so completely from the Ranger.

I enjoy stories in the now that allow for a back story portion to provide an origin.

I hate getting older but I can't wait for the days to pass,
waiting for Superpowers and Zorro they can't pass fast enough.

              • Looks goooood!

...But where's the moustage?? (I know this is a "Year One"-type story - so hopefully Don Diego will grow hair on his upper lip later on...)

wil the zorro spin off heroine lady rawhide be coming to dynamite or does TOPPS still own her?

                  • As I understand it, Lady Rawhide is now part of the Zorro package. During the brief time Image had the Zorro license they put out some Lady Rawhide stuff. Personally, I hope DE concentrates more on Zorro himself.

                              • Zorro #3 - cover and solicitation text!

                                ZORRO #3
by Matt Wagner & Francesco Francavilla
Writer, Art Director and cover artist Matt Wagner is in command of this all-new "year one" Zorro comic book adventure. Similar in tone and scope to Dynamite's acclaimed Lone Ranger series, Zorro also features artist Francesco Francavilla whose art complements Wagner's pulp action writing! As our third issue opens, Zorro comes face-to-face with the tyrannical Gonzales as the "fox" strikes deep into the heart of the corrupt local officials! Plus, more from Diego's childhood as we learn about the places and events which would define the young man and create the great Zorro! Joining Wagner, who also provides covers for the series, is cover artist Mike Mayhew (with the incredible colors of Dean White)!
