  • Origins List

THE AMERICAN EAGLE - America's Best Comics #2
THE BLACK TERROR & TIM – Exciting Comics #9
BLUE BEETLE - Blue Beetle #1

THE CLAW - Daredevil Comics #12
    DAREDEVIL – Silver Streak Comics #6 (1st), Daredevil Comics #18 (2nd)
DYNAMIC MAN - Dynamic Comics #1
THE FIGHTING YANK – Startling Comics #10
THE FLAME – The Flame #1
FLAME GIRL – Wonderworld Comics #30
    HYDROMAN – Reg’lar Fellers Heroic Comics #1
MAJOR VICTORY - Dynamic Comics #1
MAN OF WAR - Liberty Scouts Comics #2
    PYROMAN – Startling Comics #18
    SAMSON - Samson #1
SILVER STREAK – Silver Streak Comics #3
    SKYMAN - Skyman #1
    SUPER-AMERICAN - Fight Comics #15

    Thank You

    It's a great start. The key slots we're missing are;

    American Eagle & Eagelet
    Arrow
    The Claw
    Dynamic Man
    The Face/Mr. Face
    Green Lama
    Grim Reaper
    Liberator
    Miss Masque/Masquerade
    The Owl
    V-Man

Scarab looks like a totally new hero so his GA orign is irrelevant. Time to start with the research.
Always remember, Murphy was an optimist
Munchkin 1, 2, 4, 7 Super Munchkin 1&2, Munchkin Bites 1&2, Munchkin Fu, Star Munchkin Deluxe and Star 2

Yeah, the Superpowers Scarab is new. He reveals his origin to Samson in #6, revealing that he started about 10 years ago. The old heroes would've been in the urn at that time...

Scarab is fairly obviously based on the original, Fox Feature Syndicate version of Blue Beetle, though.

links to these origins are posted over on Devil #1. Maybe someone who knows how can transfer them.

Added Major Victory's origin - Dynamic Comics #1 - to the list. I plan to download the issue later to see if Dynamic Man's origin is in there also...

Also added Amazing Man's origin - Amazing Man Comics #5.

                      Samson & David

I think the origin from Samason #1 may be a reprint or a retelling. The same title is used for his first appearance in Fantastic Comics #17. His sidekick David first appeared in Samson #2 I don't know if it's his origin.

Oops. I said Daredevil's 2nd origin appeared in issue #16 of his series, but it was #18. I fixed it. I just read that the Claw had an origin story in issue #12, so I added it to the list. (Side note, Daredevil Comics #31 tells the "Death of the Claw.")

Actually, I believe Samson first appeared in Fantastic Comics #1 (he is on the cover). I have not read any of Samson's Fantastic Comics stories yet, so his origin might have been told previously.

My research shows David first appearing in Fantastic Comics #10. Not saying that's right, that's just what I've found. Not sure if that has his origin, either.

In doing research on Samson the first mention of David was that Samson #2 featured Samson & David. He may have debuted in Fnatastic Comics #10 (2 month earlier). Until one of can read the comic you knows which is the right issue.

Fantastic #17 was just a weird typo on my part. I remember the cover of Fantastic Comics #1 because Samson's loin cloth looks like a pair of blue cut offs.
