  • Liberator Series

In 1988 there was a 6 issue series called 'The Liberator' either by Malibu or Eternity. Was it an update/revivel of the GA Liberator??

I think you are thinking about The Protectors and it was a 20-issue series published by Malibu Comics from around 1992 before they turn it into the Ultraverse .It was a pretty cool comic.

The Protectors used Centaur characters - Man of War, the Arrow, Airman, Masked Marvel, Mighty Man, etc. Liberator is a Nedor character and was not in that series. (He was in Terra Obscura, however, as that used Nedor characters.) From what I can see, Liberator was an Eternity series that ran for about 16 issues. It looks like Malibu reprinted 6 issues of it. The character does not look like Nedor's Liberator, but I can't find anything else about it. I cannot prove or disprove any connection between the two.

With the eternity being one of Malibu's imprints and since they used some Golden Age characters, there's no reason to think it isn't the GA Liberator.

I remember and liked the Protector's and a couple other Malibu titles. Another company that had a lot of promise that never quite made it.

          Hydroman

Just saw a note that Malibu's Threser was based on Hydroman. Interesting.

Hmmm... I've never read that before. Everything I've seen has Thresher based off of Centaur's character Shark.

              Makes sense

That makes more sense as thresher is nothing like Hydro.
