Dynamite proudly announces that fan-favorite author Warren Ellis will be writing the James Bond 007 ongoing comic book series, the first to appear in over two decades. James Bond 007 is scheduled for release in November 2015, featuring interior artwork by Jason Masters (Batman Incorporated, Guardians of the Galaxy).

The news of the high-profile author's involvement with the James Bond 007 series follows Dynamite's announcement of their partnership with Ian Fleming Publications Ltd. (IFPL), the Fleming-family company that owns and administers the literary copyright of Ian Fleming's published works, including his fourteen James Bond books. Under their agreement, Dynamite has been granted worldwide rights to publish comic books, digital comics, and graphic novels starring 007. Launching their James Bond 007 line with a writer of exemplary skill and reputation has been a priority for Dynamite, and Warren Ellis' stewardship will guarantee a debut story with all the hallmarks of high-octane action and international intrigue that exemplify the franchise.

"Ian Fleming's James Bond is an icon, and it's a delight to tell visual narratives with the original, brutal, damaged Bond of the books," says Warren Ellis.

The first six-issue story arc in the James Bond 007 comic book series will be entitled "VARGR." James Bond returns to London after a mission of vengeance in Helsinki, to take up the workload of a fallen 00 agent... but something evil is moving through the back streets of the city, and sinister plans are being laid for Bond in Berlin.

Great-nephew of Ian Fleming, Diggory Laycock says, "We were thrilled when Warren agreed to write the first story in this exciting new chapter of literary James Bond. Warren's style is gritty, dark and unique and we can't wait to see James Bond embroiled in an adventure of his creation."

"Warren Ellis is one of the most brilliant writers of the 21st century, not just in comics but across all media," says Nick Barrucci, CEO and Publisher of Dynamite Entertainment. "When we approached him for the launch, we hoped he could make time in his very busy schedule, and we are ever fortunate and thankful that he was able to. We met with Warren and the everyone at IFPL, and Warren's passion for the novels showed. He really is the perfect writer for Bond, and I can't express how excited we are that Warren is tackling the ongoing series. This will be James Bond unlike anything you've ever seen before, true to Ian Fleming's source material yet bursting all preconceptions of what a Bond story should be.

Senior Editor Joseph Rybandt says, "I've long been a fan of Warren, going back to his earliest works including Lazarus Churchyard when it was first published, and pairing his creative mind with the iconic James Bond will make it the most talked about and exciting comic of 2015."

"We have the extraordinary opportunity to create the very best James Bondstories that you've never read, and we have one of the most extraordinary contemporary adventure writers in the world to launch with," says Editor Mike Lake. "After more than 40 years in the business, this is the best project I've ever had a hand in, and am very proud to have helped bring it about."

"I've wanted to draw something Warren Ellis wrote since I first read his work on The Authority," says artist Jason Masters. "Each of his carefully composed pages is filled with wonderful ideas that make you wish you were smarter. More ingenious than Warren's writing might be Dynamite's decision to have him write James Bond. James Bond by Warren Ellis! I'd buy that sight unseen if I wasn't lucky enough to be the guy drawing it."

James Bond 007 will be solicited through Diamond Comic Distributors' Previews catalog, the premiere source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies of James Bond 007 with their local comic book retailers. James Bond 007 will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, and Dark Horse Digital. Fans and retailers are encouraged to follow Dynamite Entertainment and Ian Fleming Publications Ltd.'s official social media channels for the latest updates regarding creative teams and release dates.

Dynamite, the 2019 Ringo Award winner for Favorite Publisher, is proud to announce its newest imprint, Dynamite Books! This exciting new line of prose novels will delve deep into the company’s world-famous collection of characters to produce sensational new stories for readers to enjoy. And what better place to start than with Bram Stoker Award-winning author Nancy A. Collins as she returns to Vampirella as part of the character’s 50th-anniversary celebration.

The Dynamite Books line kicks off with Vampirella: Blood Invasion by Collins, which is available in print, e-book and audiobook right now! The line will also include newly created audiobooks for previously published novels starting with the original Shaft novel by Ernest Tidyman, also available today. January will see the return of the popular SEAL Team Six No More series with subsequent months to feature Purgatori and more Vampirella stories. The eventual goal is to release at least one novel every month, inspired by classic pulp novels.

In Vampirella: Blood Invasion, Vampirella left her planet of Drakulon on a desperate quest to find another source of blood that her people need to survive. After years out of contact, the skies of Earth fill with an armada of ships from her home planet. Thrilled at first to see her people, Vampirella is horrified to learn of General Orlok’s plan for her adopted planet. She must choose between her own kind or to take up arms with her partner Pantha and join a rebel army led by Count Dracula, Evily the Witch and Doctor Frankenstein and his patchwork monstrosities.

Writer Nancy Collins shared, “It’s nice returning to Vampi. The book is my own take on the 1950s invaders from outer space trope. To paraphrase Mark Twain: ‘Those reading this book and expecting hard science ...

Dynamite announces that the main Artgerm acetate enhanced cover for Vampirella #6 has sold out at the distributor level.

Due to the truncated December cycle surrounding the holidays and printer timing to deliver to retailers on time, Dynamite had to go ahead and lock in a print run on the acetate cover. To balance out for this, it was overprinted by 20% based on initial orders, but unfortunately, that wasn't enough. Orders went up nearly that entire 20% amount at Final Order Cutoff. This cover is currently not available for reorders.

In addition to this, Dynamite is announcing that the top 1,000 retailers by annual orders through Diamond will receive a special limited edition Blue Foil variant of Artgerm's Vampirella #6 cover.

This blue foil follows in the footsteps of a Vampirella tradition established over 25 years ago with the original Vengeance of Vampirella #1. Exactly 10 further blue foil editions followed through the years on landmark issues.

Harris Comics' Editorial Director at the time, Bon Alimagno shared, “Now that I think about it, I do recall Yoshi Aino telling me the very first Blue Edition was one done by accident, and that it was part of a second printing. Something about extras were printed and they didn't have a gold foil at the printing press for it so they used blue foil on a hundred of them. I remember Yoshi telling me he was surprised at the interest in it since it was unintentionally printed. I believe these were the only blue foils unintentionally created.”

Today, to pay back retailers for supporting Vampirella and Dynamite through this monumental year, the tradition continues. Best of luck to all the hardcore collectors out there!

Picking up right where ART OF VAMPIRELLA: THE DYNAMITE YEARS left off, this brand-new hardcover volume features hundreds of covers, including well over 40 from 2019's smash hit Vampirella #1. "It’s always a pleasure to see so many talented artists, such as Fay Dalton, Jenny Frison and Ben Oliver come in with their contributions every month portraying our favorite vampiress," said Cathleen Heard, Dynamite Art Director. "Many of these pieces are so impressive that we know fans will appreciate them compiled and presented in different ways to truly celebrate this anniversary. Our production and design team always strives to put together books that reflect the prestige of our characters and properties."

Vampirella debuted 50 years ago in the first issue of her self-titled magazine. Originally put out through Warren Publishing as a horror, sci-fi and fantasy anthology alongside sister titles Creepy and Eerie. Intended as a campy hostess, the heroine built up by James Warren, Forrest J. Ackerman, Trina Robbins and Frank Frazetta became a quick fan-favorite in her own right. Especially once comics legend Archie Goodwin and a young Spanish artist named Jose "Pepe" Gonzalez got their chance on ...

Starting in February, Dynamite is proud to announce the Eisner-nominated Mark Russell is kicking off his second full year on the She-Devil with a Sword in the flagship Red Sonja, joined once more by the masterful Bob Q and the return of Jae Lee to Dynamite!

Following 12 issues and two tie-in one-shots, Red Sonja #13 starts with Sonja the Red in a an unfamiliar position. In the beginning of this epic, she was crowned Queen of Hyrkania, pitting her in battle against Dragan the Magnificent. As the two leaders pushed and pulled on the map, one must come out victorious. This glory is short-lived, as now in a time of relative peace and still on the throne of her conquered kingdom, Sonja must deal with the impossible part... ruling. With no food, infrastructure or plan, she must make some extremely difficult choices, compromises and alliances, lest her reign come to an anticlimactic end.

Mark Rusell details where the saga has been and where it's going, "The first year was about telling the story of Sonja leading her people against the world's most powerful emperor, as adapted into fantasy from the historical story of Queen Tomyris and Cyrus the Great. Being a huge fan of ancient history, it was an amazing opportunity to get to tell a longform and pretty freeform story adapted from the history books, which back then, were almost works of fantasy themselves."

"This next one is going to be different in that it's less about adapting stories from ancient history and more ...

In collaboration with Dynamite, Christopher Priest is celebrating Black History Month and paying tribute to the contributions of creators of color on his Vampirella run.

As Christopher Priest's acclaimed run on Vampirella has continued on, the veteran writer and editor is constantly working closely with Dynamite brewing new ideas to engage the comic book community of fans, retailers and press. For February's VAMPIRELLA #8, Priest thought of a symbolic way to pay tribute to an underrecognized and underutilized portion of creators and fans.

“It is a significant and unique gesture on Dynamite’s part to work with me to acknowledge the contributions of African American artists in this industry with a set of covers exclusively developed by artists of color," said Priest. "Both my veteran buddies and inspiring boundary breakers creating their own unique expressions of our favorite Vampiri."

Priest and editor Matt Idelson carefully assembled a team comprised of Denys Cowan, Alitha Martinez, Mark Beachum and Afua Richardson to contribute covers inspired by a simple premise. They were asked to imagine creating the Daughter of Drakulon back in 1969 as if her appearance was inspired by African American women rather than the Bettie Page and Barbarella vein that James Warren, Forrest J. Ackerman, Frank Frazetta and Trina Robbins ended up tapping into. They are also joined by returning cosplayer Mai (Maidenhellxo).

Ash Williams is back in a new series in February from Dynamite - but wait, there are more Ash Williams?!

The "Chosen One" has had enough of that nonsense, but gets way more than he bargained for when Ashley Joanna Williams suddenly splinters into multiple differing clones. And each is packing the same over the top personality as the original! Writer Ryan Parrott (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Batman: Gates of Gotham) has concocted this comedy-horror extravaganza alongside artist Jacob Edgar (Savage Tales: Red Sonja). Their groovy crew is completed with colorist Kike J. Díaz (Sherlock Frankenstein, Ether) and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou (Red Sonja, Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt) - who must have cloned himself to double as one of the best letterers and an Eisner-winning critic!

Picking up just barely after the legendary Army of Darkness film, the big mixup is of course due to some classic bad translation of the Necronomicon. Introducing the cast... Ash is joined by the personification of his feminine side with Ashley Williams, the erratic Lil' Ash, Dash aka Doggie Ash, the cynical and morose Skeleton Ash and Chainy - Ash's now sentient chainsaw!

Together they must travel through time to Ancient Egypt and prevent the Necronomicon from ever being written in the first place. Along the way, can Ash solve his split personality predicament - and how would the others feel about that? Could one of the party members be hiding something? Fans will just have to read to find out!

Writer Ryan Parrott is no stranger to "team books," as the architect of the critically acclaimed Power Rangers franchise in comics today. After spearheading the ongoing spinoff series alongside his mentor Kyle Higgins, he's leveled up to the flagship.

Parrott shared, "Ash is just such a ...
