A search for new scribes to work with Stahelski is about to get underway.

There can be only one and, in this case, it's Chad Stahelski.

Stahelski, who, along with David Leitch, was the filmmaker behindJohn Wick, has signed on to direct the long-gestating reboot ofHighlander for Lionsgate.

"I've been a huge fan of the original property since I saw it in high school," Stahelski told The Hollywood Reporter. "Such great themes of immortality, love, and identity are all wrapped up in such colorful mythology. I can't think of a better property that gives the opportunity to create interesting characters, mythic themes and action set pieces."

Neal H. Moritz and Peter Davis are producing the project, which could also see Stahelski and Leitch join the team via their 87Eleven production and action stunt company, though that is still to be determined.

The original Highlander starred Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown as immortal beings, hunting down one another and collecting more power. Lambert played Scottish swordsman Connor MacLeod, Connery portrayed Egyptian Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez and Clancy was a barbarian known as the Kurgan. The film — with its "There can be only one" catchphrase — spawned four sequels and three television series.

The Highlander reboot has been in the works since 2008 when Lionsgate-owned label Summit acquired the rights. The project has seen directors such as Justin Lin, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and Cedric Nicolas-Troyan go through its doors.

But Lionsgate never gave up on what it believes could be its next big franchise. A search for new scribes to work with Stahelski is about to get underway.

Dynamite; $3.99 According to Thomas Wolfe, “You can’t go home again.” But Mr. Wolfe didn’t mention anything about going home to your past. In the first issue of Twilight Zone a successful writer flies back to his hometown for a book signing. What he finds is more than he anticipated when he finds himself face to face with his younger self. Upon encountering his younger self, he must decide if he should help the troubled, abused boy or leave him to suffer knowing what the future holds after that suffering is endured. The story written by Mark Rahner is very interesting both for its philosophical and ethical quandary. The question posed to this man is one anybody would struggle to answer. On top of that is the eerie, unsettling feeling leading up to these moments. The weight of the title is enough to warn readers that this plane ride will not be the usual trip. Edu Menna’s art aides the story by drawing characters with haggard visages, setting the tone for a story both complicated and thought provoking. This first issue comes with covers by Guiu Vilanova, Francesco Francavilla, Jay Shaw, and Jonathan Lau.

Dynamite Entertainment is proud to announce that industry sensation Frank Cho will return to Jungle Girl, the comic book series that showcases Jana, a primal heroine in a prehistoric Lost World. Co-written by Doug Murray (The 'Nam) and illustrated by Jack Jadson (The Savage Hawkman), Jungle Girl: Season Three will debut with a new #1 issue in April 2015, featuring an explosive cover by Frank Cho.Jungle Girl: Season Three picks up where the previous series left off, following Jana's escape from an underwater city and a gigantic, otherworldly creature. However, her father soon reveals that those actions have doomed the Lost World in which they all live, as a wormhole appears in the sky and flaming debris begins to fall through. As the jungle burns, Jana and her friends must contend with stampeding behemoths and displaced, murderous natives. Furthermore, the rift presents a new, fearsome threat, for the fire from an alien dimension was not the only thing to come through."I'm delighted to be back with my co-creator, Doug Murray, and finish out the final story arc of Jungle Girl," says Frank Cho, one of today's most recognizable names in comic book illustration.  DYNAMITE AND PAIZO ANNOUNCE NEW COMIC SERIES,
P
ATHFINDER: SPIRAL OF BONES
Crystal Frasier and Tom Garcia Set to Serve as Creative Team
for the New Series Set to Debut in March

December 19, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ:  Dynamite Entertainment is pleased to announce they have once again partnered with Paizo Publishing for the upcoming launch of their latest Pathfinder adventure, Pathfinder: Spiral of Bones! Crystal Frasier, best known for her work as writer, developer, and graphic designer on the Pathfinder line of roleplaying games, has been tapped to serve as writer, and will be joined by artist Tom Garcia (Pathfinder: Hollow Mountain, Pathfinder: Origins) for the upcoming March 2018 release.
As the Pathfinders plunge into the history and mysteries below Kaer Maga-the no-holds-barred 'City of Strangers'-Valeros plunges far deeper into the great beyond, defending his immortal soul in the courts of the dead! From Pathfinder author Crystal Frasier comes this scintillating tale of life, death, and what lingers when we're gone.
Writer Crystal Frasier says, "I'm really excited to write for mainstream comics after writing fiction and gaming material for so long. I've been working with these character for almost a decade, and I'm positively giddy to see them brought to life the way Tom portrays them-lively and expressive and individual. I'm especially excited to get to focus on Valeros. He ends up the butt of jokes pretty often, but he's just a guy trying to do his best for his friends and usually feeling like he's jumped in way over his head. I can relate to that. Now we get a chance to see what makes him tick and what makes him special beyond his sword arm, iron liver, and animal magnetism."
Crystal Frasier is a writer, game developer, and graphic designer with eighteen years' experience, best known for her work on the Pathfinder line of roleplaying games and adventures. She strives to make games worlds where everyone can see themselves reflected. She is a survivor of both the Art Institute of Seattle and New College of Florida, and pulls heavy inspiration for her work from European, Central American, and African history as well as the works of L. Frank Baum and Lewis Carroll. In her free time, Crystal reads comics, plays with her dog, and obsessively re-watches old cartoons from the 80s and 90s.
"We have had incredible success publishing the Pathfinder series, as it appeals to both comic book and video game fans across the globe," says Nick Barrucci, CEO and Publisher of Dynamite Entertainment. "Paizo Publishing has been an amazing partner to work with these last 5 years, and we're excited to both continue that partnership, as well as provide loyal fans with further tales of mystery and adventure set within the groundbreaking world of Pathfinder!"
In 2012, Dynamite Entertainment partnered with video game publisher Paizo Publishing and made headlines across the comic and gaming industries with the news that the New Jersey had secured the rights to produce the first series of Pathfinder comics based on the massively popular RPG franchise. The first series, simply entitled Pathfinder: Dark Waters Rising launched later that same year to widespread critical-acclaim allowing for further entries into the Pathfinder universe. Subsequent story arcs and mini-series include Of Tooth and Claw, Night on the Town, City of Secrets, Hollow Mountain, Runescars, Worldscape, Goblins, and Origins
The debut issue of Pathfinder: Spiral of Bones features a wide selection of cover variants, providing fans and retailers with the freedom of choice! Four art covers feature the talents of Marco Santucci (Tekken: Blood Feud, Assassin's Creed: Uprising), Diego Galindo (Jim Butcher's Dresden Files: Dog Men, Unleash), Jonathan Lau (Agent 47: Birth of the Hitman, Pathfinder: Runescars and Worldscape), and Jen Vaughn (Cartozia Tales, Adventure Time), respectively. Limited variant editions in "Black & White" and "Virgin Art" formats are also available as retailer incentives for comic shops that support the launch issue by achieving stocking thresholds.
Pathfinder: Spiral of Bones #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' January 2018 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in February. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies of Pathfinder: Spiral of Bones #1 with their local comic book retailers. Pathfinder: Spiral of Bones #1 will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, Madefire, and Dark Horse Digital.

DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES UPCOMING LAUNCH OF NEW
GREEN HORNET SERIES

Amy Chu and German Erramouspe Set to Serve as Creative Team for the
New Series Set Debuting in March

December 19, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ:  Dynamite Entertainment is pleased to announce they will be adding a new entry into the Green Hornet universe, as the prolific and talented Amy Chu, best known for her work on Red Sonja, KISS, and Poison Ivy, has been tapped to serve as writer for the upcoming series. Chu will be joined by artist German Erramouspe (Night of the Living Dead: Aftermath, Rancat) for the upcoming March 2018 release.
Britt Reid Jr., the scion of the Daily Sentinel publishing empire, vanishes during a wild party on his friend's yacht. Meanwhile, crime spikes in the streets of Century City with the mysterious criminal/secret vigilante the Green Hornet absent.  It's only a matter of time before SOMEONE puts two and two together, and it's up to Kato, former partner of Britt's father, and his daughter Mulan to protect the city AND the Green Hornet legacy, while finding out what happened to Britt.  Writer Amy Chu picks up where Kevin Smith left off with an action-packed mystery!
Writer Amy Chu says, "The Green Hornet was one of the top titles on my bucket list to write, so I'm really thrilled to dive in. I've been listening to the old radio shows from the '30s and trying to bring back some of the good guy vs bad guy elements of what made it popular in the '30s. But this is not a pure nostalgia trip- there's a lot of modern twists.  My parent's generation in Hong Kong liked Green Hornet because of Bruce Lee as Kato so I'm weaving in some solid martial arts action too."
Amy Chu writes comics - and only - comics! Following a successful run heading the first-ever Poison Ivy mini-series for DC Comics, Chu began crafting multiple series for Dynamite Entertainment including Red Sonja and KISS. Chu also writes and produces comics for several non-profits including The New York Historical Society, The Baltimore Museum of Art, Pop Culture Classroom, and The Museum of Chinese in America. In her spare time, Chu can be found serving as a frequent speaker/panel moderator/guest at the top industry conventions including San Diego Comic Con, New York Comic Con, Heroes Con, and the Emerald City Comic Con and Fan Expo.
Artist German Erramouspe says, "When I read the beginning of the script for the first issue of this new series, Amy Chu proposed to me that we could make this version of Green Hornet with a noir style, something in the vein of Eduard Hopper's painting, Nighthawks. Hopper is one of my favorite artists, so with this in mind, I know that this first chapter is going to be really stimulating for me when I go to the drawing table and begin working on it! I can give to Kato and the Green Hornet, two characters that I really enjoy, and am really excited to draw, a somber feeling!  I hope the readers can enjoy this new beginning as much as I'm enjoying drawing it! And feel how the night is dyed in a darkest green once again!"
Germán Erramouspe, who was born in 1981 Argentina, is a comic artist who made his debut was on a mini-series El Hombre Primordial before working on several titles for Avatar Press, including Disenchanted, Night of the Living Dead: Aftermath, Crossed: Badlands, God is Dead, and Dark Gods. More recently, Erramouspe has worked with Dynamite Entertainment on Grimm Vol.2, and is currently working with French publisher StoneBots Comics on his graphic novel, Rancat
"We are so proud to once again take on the world of one of comic's most beloved and eternal characters with our new Green Hornet series," says Nick Barrucci, CEO and Publisher for Dynamite. "And with the ever-talented Amy Chu at the helm, we're certain this series will be one of 2018's biggest success stories!"
The debut issue of Green Hornet features a wide selection of cover variants, providing fans and retailers with the freedom of choice! Four art covers feature the talents of Mike Choi (X-Men, Cable), Carli Ihde (KISS/Vampirella, Sheena), Mike McKone (The Amazing Spider-Man, The Avengers, Iron Fist), and CP Wilson III (Deadpool, G.I. Joe, The Shadow), respectively. Limited variant editions in "Black & White" and "Virgin Art" formats are also available as retailer incentives for comic shops that support the launch issue by achieving stocking thresholds.
Green Hornet #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' January 2018 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in March. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies of Green Hornet #1 with their local comic book retailers. Green Hornet #1 will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, Madefire, and Dark Horse Digital.

DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES NEW JAMES BOND: M ONE-SHOT

Writer Declan Shalvey and Artist PJ Holden Tapped to Serve as
Creative Team Behind the All-New 007 One-Shot!

November 21, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ:  Dynamite Entertainment and Ian Fleming Publications Ltd. are pleased to announce that superstar writer Declan Shalvey (Deadpool Vs. Old Man Logan, Savage Town) and artist PJ Holden (2000 AD, Judge Dredd) have been tapped to helm the latest entry into the James Bond universe with James Bond: M. The new one-shot will delve into the back-story of Bond's superior, M, and his time in the field prior to his ascension as head of England's MI6. The standalone story, which features 40-pages of heart-stopping international intrigue and espionage, is set for launch in February 2018!
James Bond's superior, code-named M, scrambles MI6's secret agents across the globe. Sometimes, he knowingly sends them to their deaths, for the greater good. But a traumatic event from M's early days in the field returns to haunt him, forcing M to return to Belfast, the scene of a crime…HIS crime.
Writer Declan Shalvey says, "I'm delighted to play around in the Bond playpen for this one-shot. Myself and PJ Holden have talked a lot about what we'd like to see in this story, we want to take a British spy and put him in a world that is both foreign and familiar. Belfast is such a unique place and a really great opportunity to do something different with a Bond character yet will still feel very much of that world. PJ is such a fantastic storyteller, I'm excited to see what he does with this story, being from Belfast himself. I love one-shots, and I know that PJ, along with Dearbhla Kelly are going to make this a beautiful package."
Raised in the West of Ireland, a graduate of Limerick School of Art and Design, and winner of an Eagle Award for Hero Killer, his first published comic, Declan Shalvey's first professional work was in the UK scene with noir indie-books and adaptations of classical literature. He later came to prominence in the American market with his moody, atmospheric work with his arc on Moon Knight. He has since worked with several large publishers to write the hit series Civil War II, Deadpool vs Old Man Logan, and Venomverse: War Stories
Artist PJ Holden says, "Look I've walked the streets of Belfast checking dead letter drops and wanting to be a super spy since I was 7 years old, I'm pumped and primed for this. Bringing Bond's boss M to Belfast is the job I was born for."
PJ Holden is a Belfast-based artist that began his comic book career in 1997 with Fantagraphic's Holy Cross #3, before finding critical acclaim 3 years later for his work on 2000 AD and Judge Dredd. Holden saw his big break in the America market with his mini-series Fearless before forming his own company, Infurious Comics, which aims to produce mobile comics for iOS devices, Holden himself designed the Comic Reader App in order to facilitate the project, which the BBC referred to as one of "four pioneering web innovations" flying the flag for UK digital innovation.
"It is always such an honor to work with a master like Declan Shalvey, and we're excited to see his unique take on the Bond Universe and working together again with PJ (Holden)," says Nick Barrucci, CEO and Publisher for Dynamite. "We're certain that with his unbelievable ability to craft an intricate story, combined with the stunning artwork of PJ Holden, M's long overdue profile will be as superior as the character himself!" In 2014, Dynamite Entertainment made headlines across the comics industry and beyond with the news that the New Jersey publisher had secured the license from Ian Fleming Publications Ltd to produce the first James Bond comics in 20 years. The first series, Vargr, written by Transmetropolitan writer Warren Ellis, launched the following year to widespread critical acclaim, and was a breakout success in the comics specialty market. Subsequent James Bond story lines include Ales Kot's The Body, Jody Houser's Moneypenny, Diggle and Casalanguida's Hammerhead and Kill Chain, James Robinson and Aaron Campbell's Felix Leiter, Benjamin Percy and Rapha Lobosco's Black Box, and Kieron Gillen and Antonio Fuso's Service.
James Bond: M will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' December 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in February 2018. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies of James Bond: M with their local comic book retailers. James Bond: M will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, Madefire, and Dark Horse Digital.

THE DEMON TAKES ON THE DEADITES AS THE
KISS ARMY MEETS THE ARMY OF DARKNESS

Rock 'n Roll Legends Meet Horror Comics Icon in KISS/Army of Darkness
from Chad Bowers, Chris Sims, and Ruairi Coleman!

November 21, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ:  Dynamite Entertainment proudly brings together two of its bestselling brands for a horror/music extravaganza in KISS/Army of Darkness #1, the debut issue in a new comic book series uniting the legendary rock 'n' roll band with the comic industry's grooviest of character! Written by Chad Bowers and Chris Sims (X-Men '92, Deadpool) and illustrated by Ruairi Coleman (Star Wars: Rebels, TMNT Amazing Adventures), the KISS/Army of Darkness miniseries event is set to launch in February 2018.
KISS is on top of the world and rocking faces until the night disciples of The Destroyer show up and the band disappears. With the tour canceled, a young Ash misses one of the most important events of his life that will change his destiny. Now the Chosen One has to get back on the right path and join the KISS ARMY OF DARKNESS!
Co-writer Chad Bowers says, "With Ash vs. The Army or Darkness, Chris and I were given kind of carte blanche to do whatever we wanted to the world of AOD, and we went for broke. We introduced some new characters and concepts, and built a legacy for Ash's comics adventures that I'm immensely proud of, but not in a million years could I have guessed we'd get to continue that momentum with the added bonus of tossing the world's greatest rock n' roll band into the mix!  I've been in the tank for KISS since I was in middle school. I remember buying the KISS tribute album, KISS My Ass for the Lemonheads (they covered Plaster Caster), which lead to me picking up Greatest Hits, and so on. But when I found out there was a KISS comic with blood in it, I signed up for life! Of course, I adore the songs (literally listening to Do You Love Me right now), but I'm just as obsessed with the way KISS transcends the music to become something of a genre themselves. It's something I think about a lot, honestly, so no surprise, it's a big part of our story too!"
Co-writer Chris Sims says, "When it comes to Army of Darkness, I guess you could say that Ash is a bit of a gambler, but he's nobody's fool. And since our first story was set back at Alan Shepard High, we're looking forward to showing him some things that you can't learn in school. Okay, okay, I'll stop with the deep-cut lyrics now, but for real -- if you thought Deadites at Homecoming and the Supernatural Military-Adjacent Response Team were taking Ash in a new direction, just wait until you see how we team him up with the Starchild, Space Ace, the Demon, and the Catman. In the grand tradition of the film, we're tearing up the entire space-time continuum and if you think you know how weird this is gonna get... well, you sure know somethin'!"
Artist Ruairi Coleman says, "Having done some work for Dynamite in the past, I've really been wanting to get my foot in the door here for a long time so I can play in the sandbox of the amazing licenses they have. Chief among those, and high up on my bucket list, is Army of Darkness: Hail to the king, baby! So, when I was offered the job of drawing the KISS/Army of Darkness crossover, I couldn't believe my luck! The concept is totally bonkers, but in a way, that would make complete sense in the world of Army of Darkness. Thinking about it, I'm surprised it hasn't been done already and I'm honored (and more than a little intimidated) to be the guy who draws it."
"After a more than 40-year career, KISS continues to be one of rock's most celebrated bands, while Army of Darkness continues to be a staple in the comic book industry. We're both honored to have the opportunity to work so closely with Gene and Paul to bring their world-renowned alter-egos to comics alongside our very own Ashy Slashy," says Nick Barrucci, CEO and Publisher of Dynamite Entertainment. "The raging guitar chords and pyrotechnic spectacle of their stage shows could have come straight from the pages of the Necronomicon, and this epic battle between The Demon and Deadites will appeal to the hellions in all of us!"
As America's #1 Gold Record Award winning group of all time (and that's in every category), KISS can easily be named one of rock's most influential bands. The Rock N Roll Hall of Famers have released 44 albums and sold more than 100 million albums worldwide. The origins of KISS comic books date almost as far back as the inception as the band itself, having been an integral part of comics culture since their 1977 appearance in Howard the Duck #12 and 1978's Marvel Comics Super Special: Kiss. Today, nearly 40 years later, Dynamite Entertainment is the proud home to the comic book series KISS, KISS: The Demon, KISS/Vampirella, and now KISS/Army of Darkness.
Army of Darkness is a 1992 fantasy/comedy film with strong horror elements starring Bruce Campbell (Burn Notice), the third installment in a trilogy featuring reluctant hero Ash Williams. Directed by Sam Raimi (Spider-Man), the film saw its tough-as-nails, wise-cracking protagonist transported from the modern era to the Dark Ages in his continuing war against demonic evil. Army of Darkness generated a dedicated fan following for its premise and lead actor. Since 2004, Dynamite Entertainment has been the proud home to Army of Darkness comic books.
The debut issue of KISS/Army of Darkness features a wide selection of cover variants, providing fans and retailers with the freedom of choice! Three art covers feature the talents of Kyle Strahm (KISS: the Demon, Army of Darkness/Xena Warrior Princess: Forever….and a Day), Goni Montes (KISS, SwordQuest, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), and Ken Haeser (KISS: the Demon, Ash vs the Army of Darkness, Hatchet), respectively. XXX limited variant editions in "Black & White" and "Virgin Art" formats are also available as retailer incentives for comic shops that support the launch issue by achieving stocking thresholds.
KISS/Army of Darkness #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' December 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in February 2018. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies of KISS/Army of Darkness #1 with their local comic book retailers. KISS/Army of Darkness #1 will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, Madefire, and Dark Horse Digital.

Most recently, Cifuentes has served as penciller for Injustice II and Cover Artist for IvX. Writer Meredith Finch says, "I can think of no artist better suited than Vicente Cifuentes to collaborate with on Xena: Warrior Princess.  Vicente brings a love and a passion for the character that matches my own and his raw and gritty style pairs perfectly with the rough and tough warrior princess fans want and expect to see on the page."   Meredith Finch is a comic book writer, best known for her work on DC Comic's Wonder Woman in 2011.  Since, she has worked with a number of top publishers and most recently launched her first creator-owned series, Rose, in 2017. Meredith will be attending this weekend's New Jersey Comic Expo, where fans can meet and talk some of the comic industry's strongest female characters and all of her work, to date and upcoming, especially Xena! Finch will also be taking questions on the new series during Dynamite's Sunday panel at 2 pm est! "We're proud to be the comic book home for Xena: Warrior Princess, now and into the future," says Nick Barrucci, CEO and Publisher of Dynamite. "And we're so excited to launch this new series! Writer Meredith Finch is the perfect fit to bring such a strong female character to the page, and with the addition of the ever-talented Vicente Cifuentes as artist, this series is sure to be a huge hit amongst Xena fans and beyond!"
The Xena: Warrior Princess franchise first expanded into comic books in 1997 with several series published by Topps Comics, including crossovers with their Hercules: The Legendary Journeys comics. Two years later, Dark Horse acquired the rights and published a fourteen-issue series. In 2006, Dynamite Entertainment acquired the rights, publishing Xena: Warrior Princess #1-4 (the "Contest of Pantheons" storyline) and a second series, subtitled Dark Xena. Also, two tongue-in-cheek crossover series materialized with Dynamite's long-running Army of Darkness series, as both Xena and AOD had roots at Renaissance Pictures and featured actor and cult film hero Bruce Campbell. In 2015, Dynamite reacquired the Xena license, publishing a new core series, an additional AOD crossover (subtitled Forever and a Day), and high-quality reprints of classic Xena comic books from the 1990s and early 2000s.
Xena #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' December 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in February 2018. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies of Xena #1 with their local comic book retailers. Xena #1 will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, Madefire, and Dark Horse Digital.
