October 6, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Dynamite announces a special limited time signing opportunity at New York Comic Con with James Bond writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson, in partnership with retail leader Midtown Comics.
Fans can kick off their NYCC experience on a high note this Thursday October 6 at 1 PM EST. Stop by the Midtown Comics mecca at booth #3137 in the heart of the show floor. Johnson will be on hand to chat and sign comics.
Dynamite's latest critically acclaimed collaboration with Phillip Kennedy Johnson is 007, a thrilling take on the globally beloved British super spy. Alongside artist Marco Finnegan, Johnson's Bond tale pulls all the core classic elements from the Ian Fleming originals and adds a modern twist. After one mission goes horribly, terribly wrong, Bond's status and future with MI6 is in a precarious position. That's when he's contacted by Gwendolyn Gann, a former 00 agent herself. Mysteries from the past resurface, forcing Bond to take on the shadowy organization of "Myrmidon."
In their review of the first issue, CBR described that the series and Johnson's writing "perfectly captures Bond's voice."
Phillip Kennedy Johnson is one of the top writers in comics today. His fan-favorite tenure on DC Comics' Superman franchise has treated readers to an extended saga they've never seen before, and is soon to enter its next hotly anticipated phase. For Marvel's licensed Aliens comic books, Johnson has been crafting new threads of the xenomorphs. He is also the creator behind the fantasy epic The Last God. For Dynamite he also contributed a story to Red Sonja: Black, White, Red #4.
