Red Sonja #1 is In Stores Now!
50th Anniversary Celebrating Title Starts This Week!

July 19, Mt. Laurel, NJ:
Red Sonja is in the air, on the tip of everyone's tongues and at the back of their minds — even if they don't know it yet! Dynamite is excited for the big debut of the newest flagship Red Sonja series in stores this week, officially Wednesday July 19. Fans can pick up their copies from their favorite retailers and dive right into the new era of the She-Devil With a Sword, as we also celebrate five fantastic decades of the heroine's adventures!

Writer Torunn Grønbekk (Thor, Realm of X) and franchise legend artist Walter Geovani are ready to rock this new series and bring fans along with them to a new era! A Norwegian raised on sword and sorcery sagas, Torunn has looked up to Sonja for years and her career has been building to this point. Red Sonja is on the run and wanted for murder, and it will take all of her skills, power, and intellect to survive the experience.

The first issue features a range of stunning covers for fans to choose from, across industry legends, today's superstars, rising talents, and unique approaches to covers rarely seen. There are covers by Jenny Frison, Shannon Maer, Jim Cheung, Mike Mignola, Kevin Eastman, Alan Quah, Lucio Parrillo, Joseph Michael Linsner, Bjorn Barends, cosplayer Joanie Brosas, and more.

Fans will want to get in on the ground floor of this new series and era for the She-Devil With a Sword. Subsequent issues are just going to ramp the intrigue and action up even more. They'll also feature more top flight covers from creators like Joshua Middleton, Stephen Platt, and more surprises!

Plus, the first teaser trailer for Red Sonja's upcoming blockbuster film will premiere at Red Sonja's 50th Anniversary panel at San Diego Comic Con, Friday the 21st at 11:30 am, along with details about the new series and other projects. As the film draws closer, more and more fans are going to want to check out Sonja in her native medium of comics, with 50 years of fabulous stories to dig into, and more to come!
