August 18, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Dynamite teams up with the Pressable Defects crew for a limited edition Vampirella variant comic available exclusively on Indiegogo right now.
The PD squad of Jay, Matt, and Guy run their growing YouTube channel where they engage with the community of readers, collectors and investors in the comic book game. Their news and insight on the industry and market keep fans tuning in to each each video and their Wednesday Night Press streams.
The exclusive variant cover collaboration depicts the guys being chased down by the one and only Daughter of Drakulon, in need of their blood. Hardworking talented artist Blacky Shepherd drew the cover, and is a huge Vampirella fan and collector himself.
Underneath the special cover is a presentation of the first chapter of 2019's Vampirella vs Reanimator. The critically acclaimed story was drawn by Shepherd as well, alongside writer Cullen Bunn. The yarn mixes the fan-favorite bad girl with the macabre mythos of H.P. Lovecraft. A unique black and white palette showcases the creeping horror of Blacky's style, as well as serving as homage to the beloved original Warren era of Vampirella's history. However, the art is splashed with select colors, such as the mad scientist's serum and spurts of blood!
The Indiegogo campaign offers a couple variations for collectors to pick up this comic book. Logo-free "virgin" editions and one "drained" of color to show off Blacky's inks are available. A special triple pack includes all the standard options, plus a virgin line art variant exclusive to the set. This book is set to be a rare treat for the community, and down the line may be one of the hardest to find Vampirella comics ever. Fans shouldn't miss out on this limited edition release.
