FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

MARVEL ZOMBIES VS. ARMY OF DARKNESS GOES BACK TO PRESS AS CAPTAIN AMERICA BATTLES ZOMBIE FOES
New 2nd Print Variant Cover Pays Tribute to Captain America #1

March 20 2007, Runnemede, NJ - DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT released images and information announcing the second print variant cover of Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness #1 - which pays  special "zombified" tribute to Captain America by featuring a rendition of the classic cover to Captain America #1 by Marvel Zombie master cover artist Arthur Suydam!

Of the new cover, Dynamite President and Publisher Nick Barrucci stated: "Arthur has once again knocked it out of the park! This recreation of the Golden Age Captain America #1 is perfect in every detail - and what better way to pay tribute to Cap than to have his Marvel Zombies counterpart taking the battle to a group of evil fascist Zombies! Take that Zombie Hitler!"

Marvel Vice President of Sales David Gabriel added, "Retail support for this book was very strong, but it looks like more copies are needed, so we've gone ahead and are offering up a second print variant - featuring a cover that's in homage to Captain America #1 by Arthur Suydam, with a decidedly zombie twist. Retailers should order enough so that we don't need to do a 3rd print."

Marvel Zombies vs. The Army of Darkness is a Five-Issue Limited Series that serves as a direct prequel to last year's hit comic book phenomenon Marvel Zombies. In Marvel Zombie tradition, each issue of the series features a "zombified" cover by painter Arthur Suydam (this time incorporating Ash from Army of Darkness into each "new" classic image), and is overseen by the spiritual guru of the undead himself, Robert Kirkman. This landmark event is written by John Layman with interior art by Fabiano Neves and magnificent coloring by original Marvel Zombies colorist June Chung.

COVER BY: ARTHUR SUYDAM; WRITER: JOHN LAYMAN; PENCILS: FABIANO SILVA NEVES; INKS: FABIANO SILVA NEVES; COLORED BY: JUNE CHUNG

This is it true believers, the cross-over of the century begins here! The Marvel Zombies come face-to-face with Dynamite Entertainment's Ash from the Army of Darkness! Ash has faced legions of the undead before, but never like this…as he lands in the heart of New York just as the Zombie outbreak begins! See how his actions help turn more heroes and villains into Zombies! Under the watchful eye of Marvel Zombie guru Robert Kirkman, this might just be the comic event of 2007! Plus: The entire series will feature classic "homage" covers from painter Arthur Suydam!

With the success retailers have had with Marvel Zombies (both the series, the Hardcover collection going to multiple printings and the Ultimate FF appearances), and the sell out of Army of Darkness #13, retailers are asked to double check their orders for Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness #2 (DCD Item # FEB072137) to ensure having enough when the book is in stores.

Note, Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness #1 may still be available at the retailer level.
