April 29, 2010, Runnemede, NJ - Kevin Smith's Green Hornet #1 was an incredible hit and it helped propel Dynamite Entertainment as the fifth largest publisher in comics for the month of March.  With the re-orders on Kevin Smith's Green Hornet #1 being achieving such incredible numbers, it catapulted to the #11 slot for dollars and #20 spot for units of the top 100 books in March. So to feed comicdom's Green Hornet fever, Dynamite Entertainment is offering a Green Hornet sampler containing clips from Kevin Smith's Green Hornet, Green Hornet: Year One, The Green Hornet Strikes!, Kevin Smith's Kato, and Kato: Origins.  This special Free Comic Book Day Edition will allow fans to check out each Dynamite series, and see if you prefer all, or if there are ones that are more to your liking.

Kevin Smith's Green Hornet is written by Kevin Smith and drawn by Jonathan Lau.
The Green Hornet is back and Dynamite is the new home for the avenging hero and his faithful sidekick, Kato, and the Black Beauty!  Joining Smith in bringing his unproduced screenplay to life is artist Jonathan (Black Terror) Lau as they present the one and only origin of the Green Hornet and Kato. This is the comic book version of Kevin Smith's unproduced Green Hornet film and has not been seen or read ANYWHERE else!  Dynamite is the only place to get in on the action!

The Green Hornet: Year One is written by Matt Wagner and drawn by Aaron Campbell. 
Dynamite presents the original tales of comics' most iconic hero! Matt Wagner, one of the most creative minds in comics takes the reins, bringing the characters to their basic roots a la All-Star Superman! And Matt Wagner is the man to do it! Rooted in the pulp tradition, the original tales of Britt Reid and Kato begin here! Joining Wagner is artist Aaron Campbell (Sherlock Holmes), whose stunning recreation of the industrial world of 1930's Chicago is sure to wow fans across the globe!

The Green Hornet Strikes! is written by Brett Matthews and drawn by Ariel Padilla. 
Who is the Green Hornet? A hero? A criminal? He doesn't even know, himself.  In a near future where the financial crisis has not been resolved, Chicago is more corrupt than ever. The rich are few and wield unimaginable power and influence. The poor are countless and live without hope. Gangs vie for control of the streets. Heroes have long been forgotten., until now! Witness the birth of a new Green Hornet in The Green Hornet Strikes!

Kevin Smith's Kato is written by Ande Parks and drawn by Åle Garza.

Dynamite debuts an all-new Kato series, set during the earliest adventures of the original Green Hornet and his faithful sidekick!  Early 1942, just months after Pearl Harbor, a police detective knocks on Britt Reid's door.  He's looking for Kato.  There's been a murder in the small Korean section of town.  They want Kato's help with the locals.  They find a murder crime scene and their detective instincts kick in.  They piece together the crime until they find a single Japanese character written in blood.  It reads "coward".
