FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

THE FUTURE OF HIGHLANDER BEGINS IN JULY
Witness the Fate of Duncan MacLeod and the Immortals in Highlander #10

May 16, 2007, Runnemede, NJ - DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT released images and information today showcasing Highlander #10 and the beginning of a startling new story arc that is destined to rock the world of the Immortals. Scheduled for release in July, Highlander #10 is written by Brandon Jerwa with interior art by Fabio Laguna and covers by Joe Prado, Michael Avon Oeming, Alecia Rodriguez and Fabio Laguna!

"Crazy things. Immortal conspiracy theories, mass eliminations, people going missing…" Duncan MacLeod shifted his weight, stared at Methos and continued.  "Either everyone's going undergrouynd again…."

Methos stepped uneasily to face Duncan, "Or someone's thinning the Ranks."

About the release of Highlander #10, Dynamite exclaimed, "Taking place after the harrowing events of the movie Highlander: Endgame (which featured the fate of Connor MacLeod), Highlander #10 takes the Game into the not too distant future where Immortals are disappearing, a rogue watcher is on the loose, and Duncan is about to undertake the ultimate gambit to solve a mystery in the Game! With this issue and the new story arc, Highlander fans will see exactly how important the Dynamite series is to the legacy of the Immortals and the Game. Along with artist Fabio Laguna, writer Brandon Jerwa is taking Highlander into uncharted territory by pulling out all the stops (and swords) and packing the year end countdown with the intrigue and action that has made Highlander so compelling."

About the new story, Highlander writer, Brandon Jerwa, exclaimed, "I can't believe it's been a year already! It's been a crazy ride thus far, and issues 10-12 deliver the next big loop-and-sharp-turn on the Highlander roller coaster. We're going to see the comics debut of some familiar Immortal faces and there's a surprising change of setting on tap as well. Duncan MacLeod fans will get what they've been craving, but that doesn't mean cousin Connor is left out in the cold. I've been determined to make Highlander an accessible book for even a casual reader, but I will drop the hint that a viewing of Highlander: Endgame between issues 9 and 10 only enhances the experience. I could tell you more, but then I'd have to chop your head off..."

"Jerwa obviously knows the Highlander franchise well and he manages to seamlessly blend concepts, ideas, and characters from both the movies and TV series. He also does a good job this issue bridging the previous story arc and the one to come. The tale here is intense but more with emotional drama than action and as such it would be easy for the issue to drag or to feel unimportant. Jerwa avoids this trap by keeping the characterization tight and focused." Tonya Crawford, brokenfrontier.com
