FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - DYNAMITE RETAILER SUMMIT ANNOUNCEMENT

THE GREEN HORNET AND KATO RETURN TO COMICS IN
REIGN OF THE DEMON MINISERIES, DEBUTING IN DECEMBER!

David Liss Pens The Green Hornet for the First Time in All-New Series

August 30, 2016, Mt. Laurel, NJ: The master of bestselling prose novels, as well as children's books and pulp fiction, David Liss (Marvel's Mystery Men, and Dynamite's Sherlock Holmes, The Spider, and The Shadow) writes his first Green Hornet story alongside KISS artist Kewber Baal in The Green Hornet: Reign of the Demon!

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, it could be the deadliest for The Green Hornet and Kato. With their vigilantism tearing apart organized crime, Chicago is visited by two more masked individuals: one claiming to be a friend and the other… their most formidable foe yet!

"Dynamite is producing amazing stories with some of the most incredible and iconic characters out there. I've loved working with major pulp icons like The Spider and The Shadow, so it's a thrill to finally get a crack at The Green Hornet," says writer David Liss. "Most of my previous work at Dynamite has involved bringing pulp characters into the modern era, so it's especially exciting for me to write a story with one of these characters in a historical setting."

"When David's name came up for this project, it was inspired as my first thought was, ‘We haven't had him write Green Hornet before? Can that possibly be?'" says Dynamite CEO and Publisher Nick Barrucci. "Whenever he's worked with us, David's writing establishes the setting and mood perfectly, no matter whether the story's set in modern times or period. Pairing him with Kewber Baal is a perfect way to please fans of both pulp and modern crime comics!"

"This project was particularly fun because it allowed me to build on Mark Waid's amazing Green Hornet run and take advantage of the genuinely interesting work he did with the core characters," continues David Liss.  "We've also cranked up the pulp elements in this story, producing something that's fun, intense, and maybe a little deranged."

David Liss is the award-winning author of nine bestselling novels, plus numerous short stories and comic books. In addition to his work on Dynamite's The Spider, The Shadow, and Sherlock Holmes: Moriarty Lives, he has worked on Marvel's Black Panther and Mystery Men, as well as IDW's Jinnrise.

Kewber Baal is currently drawing the debut KISS series from Dynamite Entertainment, written by Amy Chu. His previous artistic credits with Dynamite Entertainment include Army of Darkness: Furious Road; Garth Ennis' Jennifer Blood and its spin-off, First Blood; Blood Queen vs. Dracula, and several special one-shot for such properties as Red Sonja, Doc Savage, and Battlestar Galactica.

The Green Hornet: Reign of the Demon features covers by Ken Lashley and Anthony Marques, and arrives on shelves December 7th. Reign of the Demon will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' October 2016 Previews catalog, the premiere source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in December. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies with their local comic book retailers. The Green Hornet will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, and Dark Horse Digital.
