Vampirella's Identity Itself Examined in New Story Arc!
Priest & Davis Goetten Embark With Fans on "Identitatem" in #7

June 19, Mt. Laurel, NJ:
Vampirella is a woman, yet also a vampire, and an alien. In a modern world where the search for identity is pivotal, the Daughter of Drakulon finds herself caught questioning if she is even an actual person. Christopher Priest's half-decade-plus legendary run ramps up in Vampirella #7 — legacy numbering #682 — for its next thrilling story arc!

Vampirella was originally created by her mother Lilith as a near-virtual clone of her first daughter Draculina. This raises a question: does Vampi in fact have a living soul? Does she possess all the rights and responsibilities of personhood? Or is she merely a construct, devised by dark sorcery and now an aimless husk, having fulfilled her mother's purpose?

Following the devastating denouement of "The Long Night" in issues #1-6 of the new Vampirella series, industry titan and innovator Christopher Priest kicks into the next gear for another of his patented and unparalleled character deconstructions. He is now joined by rising artist Davis Goetten, ready to depict the haunted world of Vampirella's psyche.

After the future-shock of “The Long Night,” the distraught vampiress takes refuge in the tiny Caribbean island of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, alongside her friend and lover The Saint — last seen in Vampirella: Year One. There she is confronted by a powerful sentient artificial life form known as Aris, who is trying to revive the enigmatic Host, an alien life form to which Vampirella was briefly connected to in a past tale. As this entity journeys through the mind of Vampirella, her deepest insecurities are set against a dark mirror of Aris’ own confident acceptance of non-personhood.

Starting this September in Vampirella #7, and running through issue #11, “Identitatem” is another can't-miss classic in the making. Fans will not want to miss this take on trouble in paradise! With the first appearance of new foe Aris, fans are encouraged to preorder this issue!

To commemorate the brand-new arc and jumping-on point, a cavalcade of covers from Lucio Parrillo, Derrick Chew, Joseph Michael Linsner, Elias Chatzoudis, and cosplayer Rachel Hollon invite fans to sink their teeth into them — or at least pick them up for their collection!
