Disney's Gargoyles Celebrate Another Year of
New Comic Book Adventures With Winter Special!

September 25, Mt. Laurel, NJ:
Manhattan's stone guardians have been through all manner of adventures and chaos, and one might think they get a break around the winter holidays. In a new special release from Greg Weisman, Nate Cosby, and George Kambadais, fans will find out why that's not the case this December in the 2025 Gargoyles Winter Special!

For NYPD detective turned girlfriend of the mighty Goliath, Elisa Maza, December is a bittersweet time of year. There are no better sights and sounds than the city that never sleeps, as its streets are strewn with pillowy snow and the bustle and chatter ramps up for the holiday season. A nice perk for Elisa is having a beau who can carry her above the skyscrapers to marvel at all the festive lights and decorations.

On the other hand, the month also brings to mind one of her unsolved crimes early in her career that haunts her to this day. Never able to crack the case and gnawing at her to this day, Elisa shares the story with Goliath. But they're not the only ones privy to the conversation...

The ever-curious Broadway overhears key snippets, and that's all he needs to take this mission upon himself to crack this cold case right open. As the resident brilliant detective among the Manhattan Clan — besides Elisa of course — thanks to his binging of lots of crime shows, he's pretty sure he's got the whole detective thing figured out. He dons his private eye trench coat and heads out into the frigid, yet beautiful backdrop.

What could possibly go wrong? Well… aside from Broadway not having a ton of detecting experience, he’s accidentally brought on two “assistants." The gruff (and hard to hide) Bronx, and an extraordinarily barky bull terrier named Lance — as introduced in last year's critically acclaimed Gargoyles Winter Special. This unlikely trio of crime solvers return to the scene of Elisa’s case, and begin to uncover an incredible mystery that will affect not just Elisa, but every member of the Gargoyles cast!

Will Broadway be able to put the case’s puzzle pieces together? Can Elisa find Broadway in time, before he makes an unsolved mystery even worse? Can Bronx and Lance PLEASE STOP BREAKING THINGS!? Find out in “Stone Cold Case!”

Bronx and Lance from last year's special by the same creative team

Franchise creator Greg Weisman is here of course, and again as with the aforementioned previous special joined in co-writing by usual editor Nate Cosby. Bringing this beautiful tale to the page is George Kambadais, who became a superstar as the initial artist for the Dynamite era of new Gargoyles comics. Packed with 28 stunning story pages, this chilly new chapter is complemented by crystalline covers by Kambadais, Jae Lee, Roger Langridge, and Alessandro Ranaldi.

"Having Broadway put the trench coat and fedora back on to solve a mystery is going to be a ton of fun," said writer and franchise creator Greg Weisman. "Throw in Bronx and Lance, and the emotional heft that Elisa brings to this unsolved case from her past is just icing on the cake!"

Editor and co-writer Greg Weisman added, "I had an itch to do a holiday mystery, and I’m SO glad that Greg reminded me that Broadway LOVES detective shows (as seen in the classic Gargoyles episode, “Silver Falcon”). We’re embracing the pulpy nature of classic crime stories, full of seedy suspects, switcheroo’s, and a jaw-dropping reveal that nobody (especially Broadway) will see coming!"
