The Daughter of Drakulon's Earliest Tales Plus Anthology Tales from the Greats of the 1970s!
| Vampirella is one of the longest lasting characters in comics outside of the "big two," celebrating over 55 years of near-continuous publication. It all started in 1969 when Warren Publishing decided to add a third title to their family of anthology magazines featuring "host" characters and stories from diverse, talented creators in the horror, science fiction, and fantasy genres. Unique from her cohorts, the vivacious Vampirella also featured in her own stories, which quickly became a major selling point for the innovative mag. Legendary creators like Archie Goodwin, Tom Sutton, Jose Gonzalez, Frank Frazetta, Forrest J. Ackerman, Trina Robbins, and a cavalcade of future creators built up the character and her mythos. They were complemented by a revolving cast of top writers and artists contributing their one-off yarns.
Now the complete library of collections compiling the entire original Warren series are coming to paperback for the first time. This first volume is indispensable, featuring the blood-sucking antiheroine's earliest origin and peeks at other characters from her world. It also features some heavy hitters like Neal Adams, Wally Wood, Jeffrey Catherine Jones, Ernie Colon, and many more!
